ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF
SALE OF $1,00.0.,000 SEWER SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES
1974, AND $1,120,0.00 SEWER -SYSTEM CERTIFICATES
OF OBLIGATION, SERIESJ974,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized
to publish notice of sale of $1,000,000 City of Beaumont, Texas,
Sewer System Bonds, Series 1974, and $1,120,000 City of Beaumont,
Texas Sewer System Certificates of Obligation, Series 1974, to be
sold on January 22, 1974, in accordance with Article IX, Section
4 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont.
Section 2.
That all notices of said sale heretofore published are
ratified.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of .the City of
Beaumont this 15th day of January, 1974.

THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY -OP BEAU7,
MONT BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 23-45 PROHIBI-
TING TELEPHONIC ALARM SYSTEMS PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OP BEAUMONT', TEXAS;

That Chapter 23 is hereby, amended by adding a new Section
23-45 which said section shall read as follows:
11'23-45; Telephonic Alarm System - Prohibition,
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or
corporation to install, operate or maintain a
telephonic alarm system which automatically trans-_
mits a signal, message, or warning to any telephone
line of the police department or fire department
of the City of Beaumont,
A telephonic alarm system is defined to mean any
mechanism, equipment or device which is designed
to operate automatically through the use of public
telephone facilities, to transmit a signal,, mes-,
sage or warning to another location,''I"

That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances skould for any reason behe d to be invalid,
such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of
-this ordinance, and to such end the various portions- -and provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be -severable,
Section 3,
That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of
the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas,
