AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND
CLOSING OF A PORTION OF EUCLID STREET LOCATED IN
BLOCKS FIVE (5) AND FOURTEEN (14) OF -THE BOOKER
HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Paul B. Quattlebaum andrUnited Gas Corporation
are the sole owners of the property located in Block Five (5)
and Block Fourteen (14), Booker Heights Addition to the City of
Beaumont, which abuts on Euclid Avenue, the said Paul B. Quattle-
baum being the owner of Lots Five (5), Six (6), Seven -(7), and
Eight (81 in said Block Five (5),' and the'United Gas Corporation .
being the owner of Lot Four (4) -in Block Fourteen (14), in said
Addition, have requested that said portion'of Euclid Street be
vacated and closed; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Plan-
ning Commission for study, investigation and recommendation to the
City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved, and
the City -Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and investi-
gated.said proposal and recommended to the City,Council that the
approval of the proposal would be to the best interest and benefit
of the public, and that said proposal should, therefore, be ap-
proved; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of Beaumont
and benefit to the public that said portion of Euclid Street be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That Euclid Street lying between Lots Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7),
and Eight (8) in Block Five (5), and Lot Four (4), in Block Four-
teen (14), in Booker Heights Addition to The City of Beaumont, Texas,
as shown on map attached to said petition, be, and the same is.
hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed, and that title to said
vacated and closed portion of said street shall revert to and
become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as pro-
vided by law.

The undersigned, Paul B. Quattlebaum. and United Gas
Corporation are the sole owners of the property located'in
Block Five (5),,of the Booker Heights Addition to the City of
Beaumont, which abuts on Euclid Avenue, the said Paul B.
Quattlebaum being the owner.of Lots Five (5),.Six (6), Seven
(7).and Eight (8) in said Block Five (5)'and the United Gas
Corporation being the owner of Lot Four (4) in szold Block
which said block and the surrounding properties,
and the.street therein is shown by a map attached hereto and
made a part hereof:, said street being shown as the shaded
portion thereon.
It is respectfully requested that the shaded portion
of said street, as shown on the attached map, be closed as
a street and abandoned as such•to the end that same will be
the property of the undersigned, Paul B. Quattlebaum and
United Gas Corporation, as is provided by law.

Tanning Commission recommend to the City
Council that approval be given to the closing
of a portion of Euclid Stre,et located in
Blocks Five (5) and Fourteen (14) of the Booker
Heights Addition. This motion was seconded
by Leonard Stone and unanimously carried."
