AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
THE CITY CLERK -OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE
A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING A RIGHT OF WAY
OUT OF THE J. A. VEATCH AND THE J. W. BULLOCK SUR-
VEYS TO TEXAS AND NEW ORLEANS_ RAILROAD COMPANY IN
CONSIDERATION OF ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FIFTY
($1,350.00) DOLLARS.

WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont is the owner of the here-
inafter described land and premises; and, x.
WHEREAS, the Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company is
desirous,of purchasing same from The City of Beaumont for the z
sum of One Thousand Three Hundred Fifty ($1,350.00) Dollars for
right of way purposes;.and,
WHEREAS, it appears to be to the best interest of The
City of Beaumont to sell said land, subject to the conditions
contained in said Deed, to Texas and New Orleans Railroad Com-
pany for said consideration; the land which is to be conveyed;
as aforesaid, being more particularly described as follows, to
wit:
A right of way or easement along and across all
that certain strip or parcel of land twenty-five
(251) feet in width lying and being situated in
Jefferson County, Texas, and being a part of a'
1..67 acres tract in the northwest one half of
Block 48 of the Spindletop Heights Subdivision in
the J. A. Veatch Survey and a part of a 3.12 acres
tract in the south one half of the J. W. Bullock
Survey, which tracts were conveyed to The City of
Beaumont by F. A. Heitman, et al., by deed dated
June 5, 1911 and recorded in Volume 128, Page 39
of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, the
said strip or parcel of land being more particular-
ly described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning on the southeast line of said'14.67 acres
tract at a point which is fifty (501) feet north-
easterly from the south corner thereof on the north-
easterly line of the K.C.S. Ry. main line right of
way, said point being on the northeasterly line of
a power line easement heretofore conveyed by the
Grantor herein to the Gulf States Utilities Company;
Thence Northwesterly along the northeasterly line
of said power line easement which line is fifty -feet
(501) northeasterly from and parallel with the north-
easterly line of said K.C.S. Ry. right of way,.a
distance of 1153.6 feet to the'west line of the
aforesaid 3..12 acres tract of land in said J. W.
Bullock Survey;
Thence in a northerly direction, along the west-
erly line of said 3.12 acres, tract, a distance
of twenty seven and 6/10 feet (27.61) to a point.;
Thence in a southeasterly direction, along a line
which is seventy five (75t) feet northeasterly
from and parallel with the northeasterly line of
the right of way of the K.C.S. Ry. Co. a distance
of one thousand one hundred sixty four and.8/10
(1164.81) feet to the southeast line of said 14.67
acres tract of land;
Thence in a southwesterly direction along said
southeast line, a distance of twenty five feet
(251) to the place of beginning and containing an
area of 0.665 of an acre, more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute on
behalf of The City of Beaumont a Special*Warranty Deed conveying
to Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company the above described
property upon receipt of the sum of One Thousand Three Hundred
Fifty ($1,350.00) Dollars; and the City Clerk is hereby author-
ized to attest to same.and to affix the seal of The City of Beau -
wont thereto..
