AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF WINSTON G.
EASON TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTH-
ORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AND
DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of February, 1947, The City
of Beaumont, Plaintiff, and the State of Texas and County of
Jefferson, as Interveners, recovered a tax judgment against
Mrs. Katherine LeBlanc, Ralph LeBlanc, Mrs. C. E. Gaskins,C. E.
Gaskins, Mrs. L. L. Bruce, guardian of Billy Ray Hearne and
Melvin Hearne, Minors, and Mrs. G. R. Mitchell and H. 0. Hearne,
together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following
described property, to wit:
and,
Lot Fourteen (14) in Block Two (2) of the Gentz
Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, as per map and plat of said addi-
tion of record'in the office of the County Clerk
of said County;
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of May, A.D. 1947, The City of
Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and
County of Jefferson, purchased said above described property
at'public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien;
and,
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of May, 1947, C. H. Meyer,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered
unto The City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the
State of Texas and County of Jefferson, a tax deed to the above
described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax
lien, which deed was recorded in Vo1-::.666, Page 134, Deed Rec-
ords of'Jefferson County, Texas, on the 25th day of June, A.D.
1947; and,
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of May, A. D. 1952, Winston G.
Eason offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of The City of Beaumont, for itself and

as Trustee for the State of Texas and County of Jefferson, in
the above described property for the sum of Three Hundred Nine
Dollars and Three Cents ($309.03); and,
WHEREAS, said Winston G. Eason paid to The City of
Beaumont the sum of Three Hundred Nine Dollars and Three Cents
($309.03) in connection with said offer to purchase the above
described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of The City of Beaumont and should
be consummated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property
is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The City of Beau-
mont, for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and
County of Jefferson, a quitclaim deed conveying unto Winston G.
Eason all of the right, title, interest, claim,,estate and de-
mand of The City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the
State of Texas and County of Jefferson, in the above described
property derived by reason of said Sheriffts Deed.
