ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT
WITH J. W. ASHLEY AND D. R. CAMMACK, DOING BUSINESS
AS SERV -U -STORES, FOR THE LEASE OF CERTAIN PORTIONS
OF LOTS ONE (1), TWO (2), AND THREE (3), BLOCK SEVEN
(7) OF THE MCFADDIN HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY_: OF
BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont is the owner of a commercial
building located on parts of Lots 11, 2 and 3. Block 7 of the Mc-
Faddin Heights Addition to The City of -Beaumont, Jefferson Coun-
ty, Texas, same having been acquired from the United States Gov-
ernment as a part of the Multimax Housing Project; and,
WHEREAS, the said J. W. Ashley and D. R. Cammack, a partner-
ship doing business as Sery-U-Stores, have heretofore leased said
building and premises from the United States Government as a com-
mercial facility to provide the said Multimax Housing Project
with a grocery store; and,
WHEREAS, the said partners have requested of the City of
Beaumont a lease so as to continue said business, and the City
Council is of the opinion that same should be leased to the part-
nership at a monthly rental of $175.00 per month;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS:
That Willie J. Brockman, City Manager, be, and she is hereby auth-
orized to execute on behalf of The City of Beaumont a lease agree-
ment between :The City of Beaumont and J. W. Ashley and D. R.
Cammack, a partnership doing business as Sery-U-Stores, for the
lease to said partnership for one year of parts of Lots 1, 2 and
3, Block 7 of the McFaddin Heights Addition, and the commercial
building thereon as described in said lease agreement; and the
City Clerk is authorized to attest to same and to affix the seal
of The City of Beaumont thereto.
