Home My WebLink AboutORD 50-W6"QFP �'� AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A DEED OF DEDI- CATION, DEDICATING CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR THE OPENING OF NINTH STREET FROM COLLEGE STREET TO FANNIN STREET, TO BE USED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR STREET PURPOSES WHEREAS, under its street improvement and opening pro- gram, the City of Beaumont is opening Ninth Street from College Street to Fannin Street; and WHEREAS, the City owns certain property along the right of way being acquired for such street opening, and it -is neces- sary and desirable that such property be dedicated for street purposes -for the use and benefit of the general public, the de- scription of said property being as follows: Being a strip of land fifty (50) feet in width off of the west side of the old Municipal Golf Course property in the David Brown Survey, Jef- ferson County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of the old Municipal Golf Course property or the southeast corner of the United Charities property, said point being in the north line of College Street at a distance of forty (40) feet north of the centerline of said street;. Thence north 00 degree 04 minutes east along the west line of said old Municipal Golf Course prop- erty one thousand two hundred fifty-two�and thirty- three hundredths (1252.33) feet to the existing south line of Fannin Street; Thence north 89 degrees 58 minutes 40 seconds east along the existing south line of Fannin Street fifty (50) feet to corner; Thence south 00 degree 04 minutes west along a line parallel with and fifty (50) feet distant from the said west line of the old Municipal Golf Course property one thousand two hundred fifty-two and thirty-three hundredths (1252.33) feet, more or less to corner in the north line. of College Street; Thence west alon the said north line of College Street fifty (50T feet to the place of beginning. The above described tract contains 62,616 square feet, more or less. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS; That Otho Plummer, Mayor of The City of Beaumont, be, and he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City a deed of dedication, dedicating for the use and benefit of the gen- eral public for street purposes the property hereinabove de- scribed, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto. 1951.
