AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS. RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE WORK OF
IMPROVING LAUREL AVENUE, FROM THE WEST LINE OF
EXISTING PAVEMENT ON THAT STREET TO 23RD STREET,
SAVE AND EXCEPT THAT PORTION OF SAID STREET
ABUTTED BY THE MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-
OF-WAY, AND ON 23RD STREET, FROM LAUREL AVENUE
TO THE SOUTH EDGE OF PAVING ON CALDER AVENUE
IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT s
SECTION 1:
That the work -of improving the following described
streets in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit:
LAUREL AVENUE, from the West line of existing
pavement on that street to 23rd Street, save
and except that portion of sai.d.street abutted
by the Missouri Pacific Railroad Right -of -Way,
and on 23rd Street, from Laurel Avenue to the
South edge of paving on Calder .Avenue,
by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or repairing same
and by constructing such drainage lines and facilities and other incidentals
and appurtenances thereto as deemed necessary and adequate by the City
Engineer and as provided for in the plans and specifications therefor, said
paving consisting of the construction of a six inch (611) reinforced portland
cement concrete pavement, twenty (20') feet in width, all of the type as
provided for in said plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City
Engineer, and heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council, all of
said improvements being as provided for and described in said plans and
specifications, and all of same having been performed and completed in full
accordance with all of the terms and provisions of that certain contract,
dated December 5, 1950, between said City of Beaumont, Texas, and. Trotti &
Thomson, Inc., and said plans and specifications therein contained; and
said City Engineer having measured, examined and caused to be tested, the
finished improvements by the means and in the manner provided by the terms
of said contract and the plans and specifications therein contained, and said
City Engineer having found that such improvements have been constructed and
completed in full compliance with all. provisions of said contract and said
plans and specifications, and said City Engineer having approved and accepted
said work and improvements and having heretofore issued his certificate of
final acceptance, and so certified to said City Council and recommending -that
said City Council accept and receive said work and the improvements as con-
striieted'and completed by said Trotti &. Thomson, Inc., and said work and
improvements having been examined and found by the Mayor and the City Council
of the said City of Beaumont, Texas, to have been performed and completed in
full compliance with said contract and said plans and specifications therefor,
said work and improvements are hereby found by said City Council to have been
performed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., in full compliance
with the terms and provisions of said contract and said plans and specifications
therefor, and same are hereby accepted and received by said City Council of the
City of Beaumont, Texas.

Gentlemen: -
In accordance with the proceedings heretofore had by your
Honorable Body pertaining to the improvement of Laurel Avenue, from the
West line of existing paving on that street to 23rd Street, save and
except, that portion of said street abutted by the Ydssouri Pacific Rail-
road Right -of -Way, and on 23rd Street, from Laurel Avenue to the South
edge of paving on CAIder Avenue, I wish to inform you that the Contractor,
Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed all of the work of
improving said streets in full accordance with the.plans, specifications
and the contract therefor dated December 5, 1950, said work being more
particularly described as the construction thereupon_ of a six inch (01)
reinforced portland cement concrete pavement of a total width of twenty
feet (201) drainage lines and facilities and other appurtenances to such
work.
I have this date examined the work done as per that certain
contract, of December 5, _1950, and find that the Contractor, Trotti &
Thomson,.Inc., has completed the work in a proper and highly satisfactory
manner, and in full accordance with the plans, specifications and the
contract referred to herein,
Therefore, I recommend that the City Council of the City
of Beaumont accept and receive this work.
