ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE WORK OF IM-
PROVING
MPROVING FOURTEENTH STREET, FROM SOUTH LINE OF
CALDER AVENUE TO THE NORTH LINE OF THE BEAUMONT,
SOUR LAKE AND WESTERN RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY, IN
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
SECTION I:
That the work of improving the following described
streets in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to wit:
FOURTEENTH STREET, from the south
line of Calder Avenue to the north
line of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and
Western Railroad right-of-way,
by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or re-
pairing same and by constructing such drainage lines and facili-
ties and other incidentals and appurtenances thereto as deemed
necessary and adequate by the City Engineer and as provided for
in the Plans and Specifications therefor, said paving consist-
ing of the construction upon said street of a six (611) inch
compacted sand -shell base pavement surfaced with one and one-
half (1 1/2) inches of Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete and- the
construction of Inverted Concrete Curb and Gutter, Type 1,
and of a total width of thirty-one (31) feet from back-to-
back of curb, all of the type and width as provided for in
said plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City
Engineer and heretofore approved and adopted by said City
Council, and all of the same having been performed and com-
pleted in full accordance with all the terms and provisions
of the Contract dated October 4, 1949, between said City of
Beaumont, Texas, and Trotti & Thomson, Inc.; and said City
Engineer having measured, examined and caused to be tested
the finished improvements by the means and in the manner pro-
vided by the terms of said contract and the plans and speci-
fications therein contained, and said City Engineer having found
that such improvements have been constructed and completed in
full compliance with all provisions of said contract, and said
plans and specificiations, and said City Engineer having ap-
proved and accepted said work and improvements and having here-
tofore issued his certificate of final acceptance and so certi-
fied to said City Council and recommending that said City Coun-
cil accept and receive said work and improvements as construct-
ed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., and said work
and improvements having been examined and found by the Mayor
and City Council of said City of Beaumont, Texas, to have been
performed and completed in full compliance with said Contract,
and said plans and specifications therefor, said work and im-
provements are hereby found by said City Council to have been
performed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., in full
compliance with the terms and provisions of said Contract, said
plans and specifications therefor, and the same are hereby
accepted and received by said.City Council of the City of Beau-
mont, Texas.

SECTION II:
Said improvements are designated as Unit II in that
certain Contract of October 4, 1949, mentioned hereinabove.
PASSED by the City Council this the _/9f� day of
September, A.D., 1950.

to Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Rail-
road right -or -way.
Gentlemen:
Ina ccordance with the proceedings heretofore had
by your honorable body pertaining to the improvement of Four-
teenth Street from the south line of Calder Avenue to the
north line of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railroad
right-of-way in Beaumont, Texas, I wish to inform you that the
contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed
all of the work of improving -such street in full accordance
with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract therefor, dated
October 4, 1949, said work being more particularly described
as the construction thereupon of a six (6") inch Compacted
Sand -Shell Base Pavement surfaced with one and one-half (1-1/2)
inches of Hot`Mix Asphaltic Concrete and having Inverted Concrete
Curb and Gutter, Type 1, of a total width of thirty-one (31)
feet, drainage lines and facilities and other appurtenances to
such work.
I have examined the work done as per that certain
contract of October 4, 1949, and find that the contractor,
Trotti & Thomson, Inc., ha's completed the work in a proper
and highly satisfactory manner and in full accordance with the
Plans, Specifications and the Contract referred to hereinabove.
Therefore, I recommend that the City Council accept
and receive this work.
