AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER
OF NERSEY FUSELIER HUNTSBERRY
TO PURCHASE CERTAIN' PROPERTY
AND AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY
OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER
QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF
SAME.
PRE AM BLE
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of November, A.D., 1936, the City of
Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Vira Fuselier and Lawrence.
Fuselier, together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the
following described property, to -wit:
Lot 10, in Block 6, of the Leonard Addition,
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
as per map or plat of said addition of re-
cord in the office of the County Clerk, Jeffer-
son County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, on 2nd day of February, A.D., 1937., the City of Beaumont
purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfac-
tion of said 'Judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS; on the 11th day of March, A.D., 1937, W. 17. Richardson,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto
the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described'property in
satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded
in Vol. 427, page 588, on the 19th day of March, A.D., 1937; and,
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of February, A.D., 1949, Nersey Fuselier
Huntsberry offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim,
estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above desvribed pro-
perty for the sum of Nine Hundred Four and 20/100.($901.20) Dollars;
and,
WHEREAS, the said Nersey Fuselier Huntsberry paid to the City of
Beaumont the sum of Nine Hundred Four and 20100 ($904.20) Dollars
in connection with said offer to purchass the above described property;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such sale is
for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated;
NOW, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described
- property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont
a quitclaim deed conveying unto Nersey Fuselier Huntsberry all of the
right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the Cityof Beaumont
in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.

That the City of Beaumont, a municipal corporation of Jefferson
County., Texas, acting herein by and through its Mayor and City Clerk,
hereunto duly authorized by Ordinance of the City Council, a certified
copy of which Ordinance is attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A", for
and in consideration of the sura of Nine Hundred Four and 20/100 ($90..20)
Dollars, cash in hard plaid to the City of Beau r.ont by Nersey Fuselier
Huntsberry, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and confessed;
has quitclaimed and by these presents does quitclaim unto the said
Nersey Fuselier Huntsberry all of the right, title, interest, claim,
estate and demand of the City of -Be au7�on t .lin and to the following
described property, to -wit;
Hot 10, in. Block 63 of the Leonard Addition,
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as
per map or plat of said addition of record in
the office of the County Clerk, Jefferson County,
Texas; and further reference is here made to the
de'ed to said property from Vira Fuselier and
LawrenceFuselier by Sheriff to the City of Beau-
mont, recorded in Vol. 427, page 588, Deed Records,
Jefferson County, Texas,
with all and singular t►,e right, title, interest, claim, estate and
demand of the City of Beau -font in and to the hereditaments and appur-
tenances thereto belonging or in anywise pertaining.
To have and to hold the above released right, title, interest,
claim, estate grid demand of the City of Beaumont unto the said Nersey
Fuselier Huntsberry, her heirs and assigns forever, so that the said
City of Beaumont will have no further right, title, interest, claim,,
estate or demandin an'O to_s2id property by reason of the above referred
to Sheriff's deed.
In testimony whereof, the City of Beaumont has caused this instru-
ment to be executed by its Mayor and City Clerk and its seal to be
affixed hereto this, the

Attached or two ordinances au-thorizing .the conveyance of
certain properties acquired by the City at Tax Foreclosure
sales.
These are strictly redemptions by the former owners or their
assigns, and the purchase prices recited are the amount - of
the original Judg-ments pus all taxes subsequently accrued.
