Home My WebLink AboutORD 40-VAN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK .TWELVE,.(12),"JARRETTE.ADDITION, THE ALLEY IN BLOCKS.TEN (10) AND.ELEVEN (11),.BLANCH- ETTE-II ADDITION,.AND COGGIN STREET FROM.EDWIN TO BROCKMAN STREETS, IN .THE CITY OF BEAUMONTr.TEXAS. WHEREAS, the owners of the property abutting the alley in Block Twelve (12) of the Jarrette Addition, the owners of the property abutting the alley in Blocks Ten (10) and Eleven (11) of the Blanchette II Addition, and the owners of the property abutting Coggin Street from Edwin to Brockman Streets, have re- quested that said alleys and street be vacated and closed; and, WHEREAS, said petitions have been referred to the City Planning Commission for study, investigation, and recommendation to the City Council as to whether such proposals should be approved, and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and investigated said proposals, and recommended to the City Council that the approval of the proposals would be to the best interest and benefit of the public, and that said proposals should, therefore., be approved; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that the above-mentioned alleys and street be vacated and closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the alley in Block Twelve (12) of the Jarrette Addition, the alley in Blocks Ten (10) and Eleven (11) of the Blanchette II Ad- dition, and Coggin Street from Edwin to Brockman Streets, in The City of Beaumont, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to said vacated and closed alleys and street shall revert to and become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as provided by law. 61 - <7 z� , PASSED by the City Council this 16th day of May, A.D. 1950. - Mayor - TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL CITY OF BEAUMONT BEAUMONT, TEXAS TTe, the undersigned property owners on CO Street between �-�, Street and /�'p�,�,�JQ /7 Street request your HONORABLE BODY to close said ::5� Street between �w �,.� Street and �&--a c,< -,e '!Q/l Street. 0 01-C e7 44 - - - - - - - - - - -- -112 REGULAR SESSION OF THD CITY PLANKING COMMISSION HELD MAY 8, 1950 BE IT RE11EbDERED that the City Planning Commission of the City of Beaumont, Texas met in regulw session on May 8, 1950 with the following present: C. Matthews 01i1.M Mr. Stone moved that it be recommended to the City Council that the alley in Block 12, Jarrette Addition be closed. This motion was seconded by Mr. Russell Phelps and unanimously approved by the commission. Mr. Stone again moved that it be recommended to the City Council that the alleys in Blocks 10 azd 11 of Blanchette II Addition be closed. This motion was seconded by Mr. Phelps and a pproved by the commission. A motion was made by Mr. Stone that it be recommended to the City Council that Coggin Street from Edvi n to Brockman be closed and vacated. This motion was seconded by Mr. Phelps and passed by the commission. .#. There being no further business the meeting adjourned.. C. B.
