AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, CORRECTING AND AMENDING AN ORDINANCE
HERETOFORE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL -OF SAID
CITY ON THE 28th DAY OF DECEMBER, 1948, CAPTIONED:
'?AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY ,OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, CLOSING THE HEARINGS GIVEN TO THE .REAL AND
TRUE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ABUTTING UPON THE HEREIN-
AFTER NAMED STREETS IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONI'., ,TEXAS,
WITHIN T.HE LIMITS HEREINBELOW DEFINED, AND ACCORD-
ING TO UNITS AS HEREINBELOW DESIGNATED, AS TO
SPECIAL BENEFITS TO ACCRUE TO SAID PROPERTY, AIS
THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF, BY VIRTUE OF THE
IMPROVEMENTS OF EACH OF SAID STREETS WITHIN SAID
LIMIITS, AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS DESIGNATED, AND
AS TO ANY ERRORS, INVALIDITIES, OR IRREGULARITIES
IN ANY OF .THE PROCEEDINGS. OR CONTRACT THEREFOR;
OVER -RULING MD -DENYING ALL PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS
OFFERED; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT EACH AND
EVERY PARCEL OF PROPERTY ABUTTING UPON EACH OF SAID
STREETS WITHIN THE LIMITS DEFINED AIS?D ACCORDING
TO UNITS AS DESIGNATED WILL BE SPECIALLY BENEFITED
AND ENHANCED IN VALUE IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNT OF
THE COST OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS PROPOSED TO BE, AND
AS ASSESSED AGAINST SAID PROPERTIES, AND THE REAL
AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF, AND LEVYING ASSESSMENT
FOR THE PAYMENT OF A PORTION OF THE COST OF IMPROV-
ING EACH OF SAID STREETS WITHIN SAID LIMITS DEFINED,
AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS DESIGNATED, FIXING THE
CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST SAID PROPERTIES, AND THE
REAL AND TRUE 9,{NERS THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF ASSIGNABLE, CERTIFICATES UPON THE COM-
PLETION AND ACCEPTANCE OF SAID WORK ON EACH OF
SAID STREETS AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS DESIGNATED,
THE MANNER AND TIME OF PAYMENT THEREOF; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE 1'IANNER AND METHOD OF - COLLECTION OF
SAID ASSESSNEENTS AND CERTIFICATES, It.
BY CORRECTING AND AIAENDING THAT PORTION OF SECTION
41 OF SAID ORDINANCE WHEREIN THE FINAL PAVING ASSESS-
MENT ROLL FOR UNIT 11 WAS SET OUT, SO THAT SAID
ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR UNIT 11 SET OUT IN SECTION 4
SHALL HEREAFTER BE AND READ AS HEREIN SET OUT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
has heretofore on the 28th day of December, 1948, duly enacted
an Ordinance captioned as follows, to -wit:
"AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMIONT, TEXAS,
CLOSING THE HEARINGS GIVEN TO THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS
OF PROPERTY ABUTTING UPON THE HEREINAFTER NAMED STREETS
IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT , TEXAS, �gITH IN THE LIMITS HERE-
INBELOW DEFINED, AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS HEREIN-
BELOW DESIGNATED, AS TO SPECIAL BENEFITS TO ACCRUE
TO SAID PROPERTY, AND THE REAL AND TRUE (1VNERS
THEREOF, BY VIRTUE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS OF EACH OF
SAID STREETS WITHIN SAID LIMITS AND ACCORDING TO
UNITS AS DESIGNATED, AND AS TO 4NY ERRORS, INVALI"

OR CONTRACT THEREFOR; OVER -RULING AND DENYING ALL

EXCESS OF THE AMOUNT OF THE COST OF SAID IMPROVE-
MENTS PROPOSED TO BE, AND AS ASSESSED AGAINST SAID
PROPERTIES, AND THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF,
AND LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR THE PAYMENT OF A PORTION
OF THE COST OF IMPROVING EACH OF. SAID STREETS TJTITH-
IN SAID LIMITS DEFINED, AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS
DESIGNATED, FIXING THE CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST SAID
PROPERTIES, AND THE REAL AND TRUE OT,ITNERS THEREOF;
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF ASSIGNABLE CERTIFICATES
UPON THE COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE ' OF SAID 1ORK ON
EACH OF SAID STREETS AND ACCORDING TO UNITS AS DE-
SIGNATED, THE MANNER AND TIDIE OF PAYMENT THEREOF;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER AND METHOD OF COLLEC-
TION OF SAID ASSESSMENTS AND CERTIFICATES.";
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intention of said City
Council to correct; amend and change that portion of Section
4 of said above captioned Ordinance wherein the final Paving
Assessment Roll for Unit 11 was therein set out, by correcting
certain irregularities, informalities and discrepancies in the
descriptions of certain of the abutting properties- and the list-
ing of the names of the apparent owners thereof, so that there-
after that portion of Section 4 wherein the. final Paving Assess-
ment Roll on Unit 11 is set out shall be and read as hereinbelow
set out:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. CITY OF BEAUMIONT :
SECTION 1•
That the Ordinance heretofore duly enacted by the said
City Council on the 28th day of December, 1948, captioned as
set out above in the first _paragraph hereof, be, and -the same
is, hereby corrected, amended and changed so that hereafter that
portion of Section 4 which sets out the final Paving Assessment
Roll on Unit 11 shall be and read as follows, to -wit:

That all Sections and provisions of said Ordinance cap-
tioned as hereinabove set out shall be and remain in full force
and effect as first enacted, except insofar as same are corrected
and amended in correcting the final Paving Assessment Roll on Unit
2, heretofore corrected by Ordinance of July 12, 1949, and except t
insofar as same are corrected and amended herein in correcting the
final Paving Assessment Roll on Unit 11 thereof.
