HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 9-VAN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF CORINNE BARROW TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF SAME: PREAMBLE WHEREAS, on the 21st day of March, A.D., 1940, the City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against -Mrs. Ophelia Thompson and her unknown heirs, if she be deceaaed, together with the fore- closure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit: Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 4, of the Cartwright Addition- Subdivision A, to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County; Texas, as per map or plat of said addition of record in the office of -the County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, on the 7th day of September, A.D., 19.39 the City of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, - WHEREAS, on the 7th day of September, A.D., 1913, W. W. Richard- son, Sheriff of Jefferson County, -Texas', made, -executed, and delivered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above-described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 537, Page 197, of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 23rd day of October,, A.D., 1943; and; WHEREAS, on the 15th day of October, A:D., 191.9,'Corinne Barrow, offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest; claim, estate, and demand of the City of Beaumont `in the, above described -property for the sum of One Thousand and48/100.
