ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING GULF
STATES UTILITIES COMPANY TO PLACE IN
EFFECT A REVISED RATE SCHEDULE, TO -WIT:
301-T, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
EFFECTIVE AS TO METER READINGS MADE BY
SUCH COMPANY ON AND AFTER AUGUST 1, 1954.
14HEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company on July 2b,, 1954, has
requested -authority to substitute Revised Schedule 301-T for the then currently
effective Schedule 301-T, and such Revised Schedule 301-T has been filed with
the City Clerk of the City of Beaumont, and approved by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to place into effect
as to readings made by it on and after August 1, 1954, of its customerst meters
located in Beaumont, Texas, Revised Rate Schedule 301-T, which Revised Rate
Schedule has heretofore been filed by Gulf States Utilities Company with the
City of Beaumont and Gulf States Utilities Company is further authorized to dis-
continue, upon said revised schedule being placed in effect, its previously
effective and filed Rate Schedule 301-T.
Section 2.
That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed in any manner now
or hereafter limiting or modifying the right and power of the City Council
under the law to regulate the rates charged by Gulf States Utilities Company
for its services within the City of Beaumont.

GENERAL SERVICE
SCHEDULE 301-T
I. APPLICABILITY
This rate is applicable under the regular terms and conditions of the Company to the
total lighting and power service except seasonal service to which standard seasonal rate is
applicable of any Customer if taken through a single meter or metering equipment in accord-
ance with the Company's rules and regulations and if the power factor of the total load is
0.85 or higher during all months of the year.

However, all kwhr in excess of the greater of 1,000 kwhr or 200 kwhr per kw of billing
load will be billed at 1.5X per kwhr.
III, DETERMINATION OF BILLING LOAD
Billing load will be the measured highest 15 -minute kw load during the billing period,
however, only connected loads in excess of 5 kw, or where kwhr consumptions indicate connected
loads in excess of 5 kw, will be measured,
IV. PHASE AND VOLTAGE OF SERVICE '
Service will be rendered at the Company's standard phase and voltage available at the
point of service.
V. METERING
If both single phase and three phase service are taken Customer's wiring must terminate
at a common metering point in order that service will be measured by a single meter or meter-
ing equipment as required in Section I.
VI. MINIMUM CHARGE
Minimum monthly charge will be $1.15 plus $1.15 per kw of billing load in excess of 5
kw. The billing load upon which the minimum charge is based will be not less than 25% of the
greatest billing load determined in accordance with Section III created during the 12 months
ending with the current month.
VII. USE OF SERVICE
Electric service furnished under this rate shall not be used by the Customer as an
auxiliary or supplementary service to engines or other prime movers, or to any other source
of power. Customers shall not resell any energy purchased under this rate.
