AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF PORTIONS
OF . PECAN . STREET AND COTTONWOOD . STREET ( OR DOLLINGER
ROAD) AND -A DEDICATED STREET LYING BETWEEN LOTS
EIGHT ( 8 ) AMID -B" OF -BLOCK THIO ( 2) , - AND LOTS SEVEN
( 7 ) -AND `.'A" OF _ BLOCK ONE _(1) OF.. PRATER -ADDITION,
TO ..THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
WHEREAS, an agreement was entered into between The
City of Beaumont and the Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company
on the 7th day of November, 1950, in connection with the re-
location of a section of line to provide for overpass for,.U. S.
Highway 90 and providing among other things that certain por-
tions of Pecan Street and Cottonwood Street (or Dollinger Road)
and a portion of the dedicated street lying between Lots 8 and "B"
of Block 2, and Lots 7 and "A" of Block l of Prater Addition, be
vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of
Beaumont and benefit of the public that the hereinafter described
portions of said -streets- be- vacated and closed; --
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMON T, TEXAS:
That the hereinafter described portions of Pecan Street and
Cottonwood Street (or Dollinger Road) and a portion of the dedi-
cated street lying between Lots 8 and "B" of Block 21 and Lots
7 and "A" of Block 1, of the Prater Addition to The City of
Beaumont, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, authorized to be
vacated and closed, and that the title to said vacated and closed
streets shall revert to and become the property of the parties
entitled thereto, as provided by law, said property being more
particularly described as follows:
Portion of Cottonwood Street (Dollinger Road.) and of
Pecan Street to be abandoned in connection with the
relocation of the Sabine and East Texas Railroad tracks
south of Hoover Street:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the south line
of-Dollinger Road produced with the west line of Pecan
Avenue, said point being forty and five -tenths (40.5)
feet, more or less, north 1121' East from
of the west line of Pecan Avenue with the -
right -of -way line of -,the S. & E. T. R. R.;

THENCE North 1°21' East along the west line of Pecan
Avenue -one hundred sixty-seven and seven -tenths (167.7) feet,
more or less, to corner in the northeast right-of-way line
of the relocated S. & E. T. R. R. tracks;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction along the north-
easterly right-of-way line of the relocated S. & E. T. R. R.
tracks, same being along a 3 degree curve, fifty-five and
nine -tenths (55.9) feet., more or less, to corner in the
East line of.Pecan Avenue;
THENCE South 1'21' West along the East line of Pecan
Avenue seventy-nine.and seven -tenths (79.7) feet, more or
less, to corner in the north line of Dollinger Road;
THENCE North 77°16' East along the North line of
Dollinger Road one hundred eleven (111) feet, more or less, to
corner in the northeasterly right-of-way line of the relocated
S. & E. T. R. R. tracks;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction along the northeasterly --
right-of-way line of the "relocated S. & E. T. R. R. tracks eighty-
five and seven tenths (85.7) feet, more or less to corner
in the South line of Dollinger Road;
THENCE South 77°16' West along the South line of
Dollinger Road two hundred forty-three and five -tenths
(243.5) feet, more or less to the place of �EGINNIiNG.
It being 'the intent of this description to include
that portion of Pecan Avenue from the South line of Dollinger
Road northward to the northeasterly right-of-way line of the
relocated S.,&- E. T. R. R. tracks, and that portion of
Dollinger Road from Pecan Avenue eastward to the northeasterly
right-of-way line of the relocated.S. & E. -T. R. R. tracks.
Portion of street.between Blocks 1 and 2, Prater Addition,
to be abandoned in connection with the relocation of the
Sabine and East Texas Railroad tracks south of Hoover
Street:
BEGINNING at a point on the east line of the Prater
Addition.at..the north line of a.dedicated street, said -point
being the southeast corner of Block 2, Prater Addition;
THENCE westward along the South line of Block 2 or the
North line of said dedicated street one hundred four and
nine tenths (104.9) feet, more or less, to corner in the
southwest right-of-way line of the relocated S. & E. T. R. R.
tracks;
THENCE in a southeasterly direction along the south-
westerly right-of-way line of the relocated S. & E. T. R. R.
trai:ks to corner in the south line of above mentioned dedi-
cated street or the North line of Block 1, Prater Addition,
said point being five (5) feet, more or less distant west
of the east line of the Prater Addition;

THENCE Eastward along the South line of said dedicated
street or the North line of Block 1, Prater Addition five (5)
feet, more or less, to the East line of the Prater Addition;_
said point being the northeast corner of said Block 1;
THENCE Northward along the East line of the Prater
Addition fifty (50) feet, more or less, to the place of BEGINNING.
