ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF JACK L.
PLUMMER . TO PURCHASE LOT TEN. (10 ) IN BLOCK .ONE
(1) OF THE CHOLLAR ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT TEXAS,.AND AUTHORIZING.PROPER_CITY _OFFI-
CIALS TO EXECUTE AND.DELIVER QUITCLAIM.DEED.TO
PURCHASER FOR SAME..
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of December, 1945, The City of
Beaumont, Plaintiff, recovered a,tax judgment against Virginia
Dragotta, together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the
following described property, to wit:
Lot 10 in Block 1 of the Chollar Addition -to the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per
map or plat of said addition of record in the of-
fice of the County Clerk of Jefferson County,
Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of March, 194.69 The City of Beau-
mont purchased said above-described property at public auction
in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of March, 194.6, W. W. Richardson,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered
unto The City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described prop-
erty in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed
was recorded in Volume 619, Page 486, Deed Records of Jefferson
County, Texas, on the 13th day of June, 1946; and,
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of February, 1953, Jack L. Plhm-
mer offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim,
estate and demand of The City of Beaumont in the above described
property for the sum of Thirty -One Dollars and Fifty Cents ($31.50);
and,
WHEREAS, said Jack L. Plummer paid to The City of Beaumont
the sum of Thirty -One Dollars and Fifty Cents ($31.50) in connec-
tion with said offer to purchase theabove described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of .The City of Beaumont and should be
-consummated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS;
That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property
is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The City of Beaumont
a quitclaim deed conveying unto Jack L. Plummer all of the right,
title, interest, claim, estate and demand of The City of Beaumont
in the above described property derived by reason of said Sher-
iffts Deed.
