ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF JOE
RUCKER TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY, AND AUTH-
ORIZING PROPER.CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AND
DELIVER QUITCLAIM.DEED..TO PURCHASER FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of March, 1936, The City of

Beaumont, Plaintiff, recovered a tax judgment against Joe Rucker,
together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following
described property, to wit:
Being known as Tract $, Plat D-9 of the James
Drake Survey on.the City Tax Assessor and Col-
lectorts records and more.particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of a tract of
land sold to Ned Washington to stake which is
east 195 feet from the northwest corner of the
tract conveyed by Martha Dixon to E. L. Nall;
thence South 140 feet to the east line of the
Ned Washington tract to his southeast corner;
thence East 50 feet to stake for corner; thence,
North 140 feet to a stake in North line of Rhone
5 acres; thence West 50 feet to place of begin-
ning; being a part of the Henry Rhone 5 -acre
tract in the James Drake Survey, Jefferson Coun-
ty,' Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of June,; A. D. 1936, The City
of Beaumont purchased said above-described property at public
auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS, on the 10th day of -July, A. D. 1936, W. W.
Richardson, Sheriff_of'Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed
and delivered unto The City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above
described property in satisfaction of said. -Judgment and tax
lien, which deed was recorded in Volume 1,1$, Pag,552, Deed Ree-
brds of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 15th `day of July, A. D.
1936; and.,
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of February, A. D. 1953, Joe
Rucker offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of The City of Beaumont in the above
described property for the sum of Four Hundred ($400.00) Dol-
lars; and,
WHEREAS, said Joe Rucker paid to The City of Beaumont
the sum of Four Hundred ($400.00) Dollars in.connection with
said offer to purchase the above described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of The City of Beaumont and should
be consummated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property
is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The City of Beau-
mont a quitclaim deed conveying unto Joe Rucker all of the right,
title, interest, claim, estate and demand of The City of Beau-
mont in the above described property derived by reason of said
Sheriffts Deed.

A. D. 1953.
