Entitled an ordinance directing the conveyance by quit- claim
deed of a part of Land Street,therein described to George C. O'Brien;
accepting the conveyance of Geo. C. O'Brien of a tract of land in
Jersey Farm Addition therein described, and dedicating the same as
an extension of Alfred Avenue into Cram; Street, and ordering certain
ti
improvements -to be made thereon.
BE IT CRDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION 'OF TI?E CITY OF BEAUMONT:
SECTION 1:
That -,whereas, George C. O'Brien did on,. the/ 2 day of -, A.D.
.1922, convey to the City of.Beaumont that certain strip of land,
hereinafter described by metes and bounds', in order that the ' sa id. City
o� Beaumont could use and dedicate the same as a part of Alfre .Avenue
and Craig Street, and in order to so extend said Alfred Avenue across
the "old school.house property" to intersect with Craig Street, we,
the said City C:ommiss1on`-.of the City of Beaumont, do hereby accept
and dedicate the said tract of land s.o con,.*eyed by the said George
C.O'Brien,.and more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows i to wit:-*
All that tract of land necessary to be used in the extendion of
Alfred Avenue in the Jersey Farm Addition into Craig Street, that
is to say, beginning at the southwesterly corner of Lot 5, in Block
10 of the Jersey Farm Addition;'thence westerly on a -straight line
4 across Gra-y Street and across what is known as the "old school house
tract" to the extrema easterly corner of fractional Lot 74, in Block
Sof the O'Brien Addition; thence along and upon the southern border
Of said Lot 74 to its southwestern corner in the eastern border o -
Johns Avenue; thence southerly along and upon the eastern border of
John's Avenue sixty (60) feet to a stake in the said eastern border of
Johns Avenue; thence easterly along a prolongation of the south line
of Craig Street to the intersection of such line with a prolongation
of the south line of Alfred Avenue; thence easterly across said "old
school house tract" and across Gray Street alone a prolongation -of
the south line of Alfred Avenin to the northwestern corner of Lot
No. 5 in lock No. 7,, -of the ern Farm Addition; thence at right
an nrward al onthe eastern boundary of Gray Streat to the
sot Western corner 0 --'said Lot 5, in Block 10, the place of beginningo

And as part consideration for said conveyance of said land',
the said -City does hereby convey and quit -claim unto the said
George Ce O'Brien all that -part of what is known as Land Street,
extending from the -southern boundary of Royal Street to the south
end of Lot 80 in fractional Block 1.1 of the Langham Addition, tie
same being a strip of land thirty (30) feet wide extending along
the west boundary of said Lot 80, and southward to an alley;
provided, however, that it sball not exceed such an extension as
to go beyond the eastern boundary of the thirty (30) foot alley
in Block 8 of the O'Brien Addition, as described in the quit-
claim deed of the City to George C. O'Brien, which shall remain
open into the said Craig and Alfred Streets connected as aforesaid,
as well as -all pieces or parcels of land,,if any, lying south of the
tract this day conveyed by George C. O'Brien to the City of Beaumont
for street purposes, that is all that part of the said "old school-
house tract", as mentioned in the aforesaid deed from George C.
O'Brien, lying between Johns Avenue and Gray Street, and. between
Alfred Avenue, as extended, and Iram Street,
And, whereas, in further consideration for said land so
conveyed to the said City by the said George C, O'Brien, as aforesaid,
said City is to excavate and remove the trees growing in Alfred
Avenue, as extended, on the strip so conveyed by the said George
Ce O'Brien as aforesaid, and is to Prade the said street from Gray to
Craig Street without delay,
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission of the
City of Beaumont; That the Mayor of the City of Beaumont be, and
he is hereby ordered and directed to execute and deliver the City's
quit -claim deed of conveyance transferring unto the said George C.
O'Brien, his heirs and assigns, all of its right, title and interest
in and to the said tract, or tracts, of land as hereinabove described,
and sign and acknowledge the same attested by the seal of said City,
and the City Manager is authorized to proceed at once in removing the
said trees from said street and extending the same so as to connectaas
aforesaid*
