in the City of Beaumont, providing the manner in which the said
bids shall be advertised for, the form in which they shall be made,
the time when shall be received and opened, the amount of the bond

OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT : ' -

That there shall be annually an advertisement for sealed
proposals for the custody of the funds of the City of Beaumont
from .any banking corporation, association or individual banker,
doing• business in the City of Beaumont.
SECTION 2.
The form of such advertisement for the custody of the City
funds --shall -be-- as- follows:--- ISeal-ed bids --for the--custody-of the -- - -
funds of the City of Beaumont will be received at the office of
the City iYlerk of the City of Beaumont from any banking corpora-
fion, association or individual banker, doing business in the
City of Beaumont up to and including , 19 0
The said sealed bids will be opened at the next regular meeting
thereafter, of the City Commission of the -City of Beaumont,
which said next meeting thereafter will be on Tuesday,

to reject any or all bids."

The said form of advertisement, above described, shall be
published for three :,,successive times in
J .7owaml, a newspaper published in the City of Beaumont.
SECTION 4.
When any banking eo rporation, association or individual
banker, doing business in the City, is selected as the depository
of the -funds -of --the City of Beaumont, such banking corporation,
association or individual. banker so selected shall execute there -'W4.,

for a good and sufficient bond in' the amount of one million
(01,000.,000.00)'Dollars, conditioned for the faithful account-
ing to the city of all money, books and properties which may
come into its or his possession as such City Depository. The
said bond so executed shall -have -thereon good and sufficient
sureties as is required by law, subject to acceptance and.
approval of the Commission.
SECTION 50
should any part of this ordinance for any reason be held
to be invalid, the remaining part shall not -for that reason be
invalidated, but remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 6.
That the fact that the contract with the present City De--
posi"_ rye has already egpired__and_ it. being__necessary- to -at once
select a depository under the*_ew charter, creates an imperative
public emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring
ordinances to be read on three separate days before their passage,
wherefore said rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance- shall
take effect from and after -its passage and signature of the Mayor.
