AN ORDINIOCE.
Entitled an ordinance providing for a regular election for
the choosing of six councilmen, two from each ward, for the City
of Beaumont, to be held on the first Tuesday in April 1921, the
same being the 5th.,day of April -1921; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
Section 1.
That in accordanee.with Section 26, subsection 4 of the Charter
of the City of Beaumont and in a6c-ordance with other provisions of
said Charter with reference thereto, that on the first Tuesday in
April 1921, the same being the 5th. day of April 1921, there shall
be held in the City of Beaumont a regular election for the purpose
of choosing six councilmen, two from each ward, for the said City
of Beaumont, as provided for. The said election shall be held at
the following places, to -wit:
0
Central Fire Station in the First Ward,
City Hall in the Second Ward, and
Jefferson County Court House in Third Ward.
The following named persons are hereby appointed presiding Judges
at said election:
First Ward
W. A. Nichols, Judge.
Chas.
Ledwidge, Asst.
Second Ward
Ed Linn, "
Ross
Combest, "
Third Ward
Tom Talley. "
Kyle
Ward. "
Section 2.
That the
fact that the City of Beaumont
has not
as yet passed
an ordinance providing for a regular election for the choosing of
six councilmen, two from each ward, on.the first Tuesday in April,
1921, and that such an ordinance is necessary for.the calling of
such a regular election for such purpose, creates an imperative public
emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances
to be read on three separate days before their passage, wherefore said
rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect from
and aftdr its passage and signature of
