for the preservation of the public safety, peace and property
of the people of the City of Beaumont, Texas, and the immediate
discouragement and prohibition of the influx to the City of
Beaumonti of persons who sojourn in the said City of Beaumont,
en*ourages and induces, immorality and lawlessness, and renders - -�
unsafe, the peace, property and wellbeing of the people of

t Section �
Be it ordained, by the City C on-nis s i on of the City
of Beaumont, in legal and regular session convened, that it
shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or persons to carry
on and maintain under or in any tent, awning or other moveable
and temporary structure, or in the open aik, within the limits
of the City of Beaumont, any dance, vaudeville performance,
circus, carnival or theater for a. period of time --more- than
f twenty, four hours in each twelve months, from the passage of
this ordinance, and it shall be unlawful then unless such
person or persons shall first procure a permit from the City
Manager of the City of Beaumont; or for any person to peddle
or in any other manner sell or offer for sale any kind of
merchandise, patent medicine or nostrum, on the following
Streets:- Pearl, Orleans, Park; Broadway, from Pearl to Main;
Liberty Ave., from Alamo St., to Main; Crockett Street;
Bowie St.., from Neches to Main; Fannin St., from Neches to ITain;
Forsythe St., from Neches to Main; Wall St., from Orleans to
Main; Washington, from Orleans to Main, in the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas;^rte for any person or persons to beg,
and solicit alms within the limits of. the City of Beaumont,
without first securing a permit from the City Manager of the
City of Beaumont.
Section 11
Any person or persons who shall violate any provision
of .this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty ofmisdemeanor, and upon
conviction, be fined in any sum not less than One Dollar or more
than Fifty Dollars ($50.002 or imprisonment for a period not
less than five or more than ten days, in the City Jail ,.,jCLjk
