Entitled an ordinance apportioning a tax of 42/ on each $100.00
valuation of all taxable property within the limits of the City of
Beaumont, Texas, levied and ordered collected by an ordinance passed
by the City Commission of the City of Beaumont on the 28th. day of
October, A. D. 1920, repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith.,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMO NT :
Section 1.
That the tax of 42� on each $lbo.00 valuation on all taxable
property within the city limits of the City of Beaumont, heretofore
levied and ordered collected. by an ordinance passed by the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont on the 28th. -clay of October, A. D.
19209 be and, the same is hereby apportioned among the various interest
and bond sinking funds as follows:
To the interest and sinking funds of funding bonds #l. dated
April 5th., 1899 - two and three tenths mills ($.0023)
To the interest 'and sinking funds of sewerage bonds #2. dated
June 1st.. 1901 - one cent (1/)
To the interest and sinking funds of sewerage bonds #3. dated
December 1st. 1902 - seven -mills ($.007)

Section 2.
That the City Tax Assessor k Collector is hereby instructed to
pro -rate the said sum of 42� according to the provisions of this ordi-
nance, and to so present his statement and report the Director of
Department of Finance that said officer may be able to plan all
collections- made under Laid t -ax to the credit of the proper fund- and
that the same may not be diverted or used for any other purposes.
Section 3.
That all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith be and the
same *x are hereby repealed in so far as they conflict with this.
ordinance.
Section 4.
The fact that no apportionVent has been made of the 42V levied
to provide .for the interest and sinking fund for the bonded indebted-
ness of the City of Beaumont, creates an imperative public ewer§ency
necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be
read -at three separate meetings before their passage, wherefore said
rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall thke effect and be
in force from and after its passage and signatur,
