AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE .
CITE' OF BEAUMONT, ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JUNE
7, 19551 WHICH SAID ORDINANCE ADOPTED ZONING REGULA-
TIONS, USE DISTRICTS, AND ZONING I4LAiP, Ili ACCORDANCE
WITH A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, BY CHANGING THE ZONING AND
CLASSIFICATION OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY,
TO WIT: (a) ALL OF BLOCKS 2, 31 AND 35, THOSE PORTIONS
OF BLOCKS 41 51 AND 34 LYING EAST OF THE.GULF & INTER-
STATE RAILWAY RIGHT OF WAY, AND ALL OF THE GULF & IN-
TERSTATE RAILWAY RIGHT OF WAY EXTENDING FROM THE NORTH
LINE OF BLOCK_ 34 TO THE SOUTH LINE OF BLOCK 5, ALL IN
THE COLUMBUS CARTWRIGHT SUBDIVISION NO. 1, SHALL BE
CHANGED FROM ITS. PRESENT "C-1", NEIGHBORHOOD COMA ER_
CIAL DISTRICT AREA CLASSIFICATION,.TO "I-1" LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AREA CLASSIFICATION; (b� THE WEST
ONE HALF OF BLOCK 36 OF THE COLUMBUS CARTWRIGHT SUB-
DIVISION NO. 1 SHALL BE CHANGED FROM ITS PRESENT "C-1",
NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AREA.CLASSIFICATION,
TO "C-2", CENTRAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AREA CLASSIFICA-
TION; AND (c) THE WEST ONE HALF OF BLOCK_ 1 OF THE
COLUMBUS CARTWRIGHT SUBDIVISION NO, 1 SHALL BEE -CHANGED
FROM ITS PRESENT "C-1", NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL DIS-
TRICT AREA CLASSIFICATION, TO "I--1", LIGHT INDUSTRIAL
DISTRICT AREA CLASSIFICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission of said
City, in compliance with the Charter and State laws with reference
to the zoning ordinance regulations and zoning map, have given requi-
site notices by publication and otherwise, and after holding due
hearing and affording a full and fair hearing to all the property
owners generally, and the persons interested, situated in the af-
fected area and in the vicinity thereof, the City Council of The City
of Beaumont is of the opinion that the zoning changes should be made
as set forth herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY .OF BEAUMONT..
TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the "Zoning Ordinance" enacted by the City Council of
The City of Beaumont on the 7th day of June , 1955, be, and the same
is hereby, amended insofar as the property hereinafter described,
and shall hereafter be zoned and have an area classification as here-
inafter set forth; and shall be subject to the provisions of said

Section 4.
Any person or corporation violating any of the terms and pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalties pro-
vided for in the zoning ordinance passed by the City Council on June
7, 1955.
