Home My WebLink AboutORD 46-Osw1 9 q - AN ORDINANCE AMELVDING THE "ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE" ADOPTED BY � THE CITY WMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT ON THE 29th DAY OF JUNE 1943" SUCH AMENDMENT PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF THE INCOME AND REVENUES OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMENDED ANNUAL BUDGET 9ERETOFORE ADOPTED AND APPROVED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1943-449 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. a WHEREAS the City Commission in regular session on June Fd 29, 1943 enacted an ordinance providing for the appropriation and expenditure of the income and revenues of -the variousu-` departments ,of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1943-44; and WHEREAS, under. date August 1943 the Citv'Commission approved an amended budget for the fiscal year 19copy of which is attached hereto for reference; and WHEREAS, it is r.�ed'essary to amend the "Annual Appr-opriathn Ordinance" adopted June -29, 19,43_,authorizing -thee ernd-iture of the income and revenue for the fiscal year 194 .', anal to incorporate the emergency clause for the purpose of' suspending- the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three -septi-rate days before their passage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1 That Section 1 of the "Annual Appropriation Ordinance" £` passed by the City -Co scion -of the -City of Beaumont on the - 29th day of June, 19 be amended so that the same shall read as follows: "That there shall be and is hereby appropriated out of the revenue derived by taxation and from the income accruing to the various departments of the government of the City of Beaumont, the following sums for each department or item for which an appropria- tion is required: For the General Fund $860 529 83 For the Abattoir -26 865 73 For the Department of Wharves & Docks 72 748 20 For the, Department of Water Works 29/x, 563 77 For the Tyrrell Public Library 47 261 20 For the Beaumont Municipal Hospital 45 720 00 For the City of Beaumont Public Free Schools 369 000 00 For the purpose of paying the accruing interest and to provide a sinking fund for the payment of the entire bonded indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for all purposes 645 069 25 For the purpose of paying the accruing interest and to provide a- sinking fund for the payment of the entire note indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for all purposes 20 187 50 n Section 2 Th�t sinc pjhe passage of the "Annual Appropriation Ordinance11 on Jit e �, 19 the amount of the annual budget for the fiscal year 19� has been changed, and there being no ordinance in effect to provide such changes in the appropriation and expenditure of the income and revenues of the various departments of the City .of Beaumont, creates an Emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to -be read on three several days before passage, wherefore, said rule is hereby suspended and it is enacted that this Ordinance shall be in full force and ,effect from and after. its passage and publication.
