Entitled an Ordinance Granting to the Texas & ldew Orleans
Railroad Company, its successors and assigns, for a perdod. of
37 years, the right ,and privilege to construct, oivn and operate
spur tracks or switch tracks of railroad, beginning at a point
near the center of Ifia.in street about 100 feet 1saRi't7r of the north
line. of block 2 of the City of Beaumont, same being -between said
Block 2 and the Court house Square l� thence extending in a
northerly direction and along Iti2ain street crossing Idilam atreet
and entering the curb line about the center of the arc!: fbTmed
by said curb line and along on parallel to the west line of
lots 546, 547 and 548 in block 3 of the City of Beaumont according
to the old town plat of said City, and entering the property line
of the Atlantic Rice Mills near/ a. pointthe south line of
said building would stai_ke the property line -if extended thereto
and another spur track to run from the track above described,
starting about J -6/l/ feet from the corner of block 3 in said
spur track above described and extending in a northerly direction
a.nd,lest of said spur track to a point near the intersection of
1.1Iain and Washington streets, Both of said spur tracks being /!the
sidewalk line or curb line of said block 3 of the City of Beaumont.
A diagram of said tracks being hereinafter set out and made a
part of. this ordinance and repealing an ordinance grant'mA to the
Texas & iiew ,Orleans Railroad Company the right and p±ivilege to
construct, own or operate spurs or switch tracks along Idain street
in front of block 3 of the City of Beaumont, approved by the City
Council of the City of Beaumont in May, A.D. 1900.

SECTION II.
This ordinance is granted., subject to the provisions of
the Charter of the City of Beaumont, and all ordinances of the
City of Beaumont and other ordinances which may be enacted bythe City Council Of the City of Beaumont exe:eoising its legal
police powers or pursuant to its Cha. -ter.
SECTION III.
That the Grantees, its successors or assigns will maintain
Jh68® portions of its tracks which are laid in pur:sua.nce with this
ordinance on the streets, in such manner that said tracks will be
on the level of said street and maintain them so as not to 'inter-
fere with the traffic along -said strett.
SECTION IV.
The foregoing right and privilege is expressly granted
upon the express condition that the said grantee, its successors
and assigns shall within 30 days after the passage of this
ordinance , acting through its proper officials, file with the
City Secretary, its written acceptance of this Ordinance.
SECTION V.
That an ordinance heretofore passed by the City Council
of the City of Beaumont and approved in May A.D. 1900, granting
the right and privilege to the Texas & New Orleans Ra-ilroad
Company, to construct, own and operate s switch or spur track
along Main street in front of blobk 3 of the City of Beaumont,
be and the same is hereby repealed .
SECTION VI.
It is farther understood and agreed. that any ordinances
in addition to the one above referred to or parts of ordinances
in conflict with this ordinance , be and the .same are hereb-

City of Beaumont and other ordinances which may be enacted by
the City Council Of the City of Beaumont exe:3c.ising its legal

ordinance goes into effect.
SECTION VIII.
This ordinance sjiblli go into effect and force from and
after its passage, filing of its written acceptance, as provided
in Section IV, hereof, and lawful publication and shall continue
for thirty-seven years thereafter unless sooner terminated by
law.
