.Section 1.
That there','.i,s hereby levied, and shall' be assessed
and collected for, the; year 1913 'the following: taxes on all
property situated within, tha , corporate limits . of the City of
Beaumont, Texas,- me -de" taxable'by law, ,- to .writ;
For:'the purpose .akpaying general.ourrent expenses
of the ,city. government.. and for'general",purposes,,'. -forty.. (40),x( -
cent s. on each .one hundred .0100.00 ), dollars valuat ion.
For the. support and maintenance. of public free
schools, .twenty =five : (25 ).. cents _-on each =one` hundred. 0100.00 )
dollars valuation.
For. the `purpose. of repairing' and, maintaining the
streets; .alleys,, public squares .and bridges- of _the City,
thirty, (30) :cents .on -each one -hundred .($100.00) "dollars' valua-
:tion..
For the purpose of, paying the aecuring interest,
and 'to ' provide a sinking fand'.for the payment of -'the bonded

Section 2.
That there, is: hereby levied and shall be collected
on all occupations and,: callingb_ .on which_an..occupation-tax is
levied by the-.Stdte 'of Texas, a sum 'equal to one-half the
amount, so'levied by the State.of Texas;.on each'respective oecu-
pation, or- calling'.
Section 3.
Tho.t there is hereby levie=d and shall be collected
a'poll tax of one ($1.00) dollar from each and.'every able bodied
male citizen -'of this city between the'ages of 21, and 60, 'years,
excepting and .,exempting :herefro'm those' who may be exempt , f`rom
the payment of such tax by the constitution and Laws: of the
