:section. 1.
That that portion relative to the salary of
the _f^l�yor of an ordinance fixing the sa,lari.es of the officers
of the (;ity of Beaumont, `.Texas, b ginning ipril 1912 and rending
April, 1914, be amended so that it shall. hereafter yeas as
follows, -to-lFiit:

' ENTITT,ED AN ORDINANCE amending an ordinance fixing
the salaries of the 'officers of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
beginning April 1912 and ending April 1914, relative to the
sal&ry of the Piayor ;
BE IT ORDAINED:BY THE,CITY COUNDIL OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT:
SECTION I.
That that portion relative to., the salary of the
Mayor • of an ordinance, -fixing the salaries of , the officers
of the. City.'of Beaumont, Texas, beginning April 1912 and
ending,"April .1914, be".amenddd so that it shall; ;herdafter
read, as, follows, . to -wit:
MAYOR
The Mayor. shall receive a salary of $.3000.00 per
annu.ih and shall receive no other ,fees or perquisites of any
'kind: in•; additi on thereto. •
SECTION Il.
Believing that. .the Chef executive-,qfficer of the
City, of Beaumont, Texas salary hhould. be' commensurate
with the responsibilities and, time' and expense: incurred, and
believing that the present salary i,s„i'nade:quate, creates
an emergency.and a•public necessity so that the rule
requiring ordinances.'to;.be read on three ,several days be and
the ,same is hereby suspended and 'this ordinance shall go ,into
force. and' effect from. and, after its passage, and lawful pub-
lication:
