annexed is a true copy, was published in said paper on the

SECRETARY OF THE CITY OF BEAT2LONT : -
Referr. ing to theordinance passed by the City
Council of the City of Beaumont,and approved on to-wit,the
{_ day of' July, 1912, reneging, extending, confirming and
granting a franchise unto the Beaumont Electric Light &
Power Company, its successors and assigns for an additional
period of twenty-five yease from and after the expiration of
the present franchise owned by the Beaumont Electric Light
& Power Compony,we invite your attention to the fact that
Section Three (3) of this ordinance reads as follows:
" The extension hereinbefore given is granted
upon the express condition that said gr_,.ntee,Beau-
mont Electric Light & Power Company,its successors or
assigns, shall,within thirty (30) days after the pas-
s,age and approval of this ordinance by the Mayor of
the city of Beaumont,file with the Secretary its
written acceptance hereof, executed by its proper
officers.;and upon failure of said grantee, its succes-
sors or assigns to file its acceptance,as herein pro-
vided for,then the extension herein granted shall be
null and void."
In pursuance of tie provisions - oted,the directors
of the Beauunont ElectricLight & Power Company at a special

vote adopted a resolution reading as follows,a certified copy
of which resolution is hereto attached,marked "Exhibit A" and
made a part hereof:
"Be it resolved that this company does hereby
accept all of the terms and provisions of a certain
ordinance of the City of Beaumont, approved the 20th
day of July,1912, granting to the ' Beainnont Electric
Light & Poorer Company certain rights,privileges and
franchises therein mentioned and that the President
and Secretary of the Company,be and they are hereby
authorized and instructed to file and deposit forth-
with,with the City Secretary 'df the City of Beaumont
a formal acceptance in the name of the Beaumont
Electric 1,ight & Power Company, signifying its agree-
ment to and acceptance of said ordinance with all of

Council of the City of Beaumont,and approved on to-wit,'the
day of July,1912, renewing, extending, conf irming and
granting a franchise unto the Beaumont Electric Light &
Posner Company, its successors and assigns for an additional
period of twenty-five years from and after the expiration of
the present franchise owned by the Beaumont Electric Light
& Power Company,we invite your attention to the fact that

franchises therein mentioned and that the President
and Secretary of the Compa,ny,be and they are hereby
authorized and instructed to file and deposit forth-
irYith,with the City Secretary "of the City of Beaumont
a formal acceptance in the name of the Beaumont
Electric Jight & Power Company, signifying; its agree-
ment to and acceptance of said ordinance with all of
its terms qnd provisions.'
Please therefore be advised that the Beaumont
Electric Light do Power Company,its directors and officers
hereby gives notice that the said company has accep ted, sand
does hereby in writing signify its agreement to andacceptance
of the said ordinance` ,.in all of its terms qnd provisionsii_ and

asks that this notice of acceptance be filed' in .the archives
of the City as an acceptance 'of said ordinance in all of
its terms,provisions,conditions and limitations.

"Be it resolved that this company does hereby
hereby accept all of the terms and provisions of a
certain ordinance of the City of Beatmont, e._oproved
the 20th day of July,1912,granting to the
Beaumnnt Electric Light & Power Company certain
rights,privileges and franchises therein mention-
ed,and that the President and Secretary of the
Company,be and they are hereby authorized and
instructed to file and deposit forthwith,with
the City Secretary of the City of Beaumont a
formal acceptance in the name of the Beaumont
Electric Light & Power. Company signifying its
agreement to and acceptance of said ordinance
with all of its terms and provisions."
I, Chester 1-1. Clark, Secretary of the Beaumont
Electric Light & Power Company,do hereby certify that the
foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed
by the unanimous vote of the directors of the Beaumont Electric
Light & Power Company at a special meeting duly held on the
