SECTIOX 2.
That the -said tar so levied andassessedshall become. due -and pay-
able upon -the completion of the paving upon which the'portion.of said streets
on which: lots,parts-..of. lots, blocks or tracts .of land front or.abutt;. pro-
ided that -'the owner_ ,or :owners of .any of the • proper.ty-...uponr,which -this attache
is levied and assessed shall have the right to"pay---the amounts herein levied
and. assessed against them to .the contractor, t6 wit:
CREOSOTED- WOOD BLOCK PAVING- QOMPANY"; as follows, to -wit:
First payment payable thirty days after the' completion of
the paving in front or abutting of their property.
F4 -p" installment payable 6h6 year from the date of the
,acceptance of'the paving in front of their. property.
Third installment payable two years -from -.,the -date of the
acceptance,of the paving in front of -their property, same drawing '
interest at the rate of six percent (6f) per annum-from'the..date of
the acceptance.of the paving.in front of their.property.
SECTION .3. =.
That all the cost of grading and paving that -portion of
Park Street from'Bowie-Street to Austin Street between the ,bails
of the Beaumont Traction Company and -a- space extending` twenty=four
-(24) inches beyond the. outer edge -of the rails -of said company shall
be borne.by the.said Beaumont Traction Company and such cost of said--.
improvements are hereby assessed against the -said Beaumont -Traction
Company and shall -be collected as other assessments levied under this
.ordinance: Provided siich work shall be -done in accordance -with the
City Ordiriances.regulating the construction of railways in the streets
of the City of'Beaumont.and the paving of such streets traversed by
same.
SECTION 4.
That all the cost of grading and -paving that 'portion of
Ivashington Street from 44=21�7 Street to Park Street -between- the
rails of the Texarkana and Fort Smith Railway Company and.a space -
'extending .twenty-four (24), inches beyond the -outer edge of the rails
of said company shall -be borne --by :the said Texarkana and -Fort -Smith
Railway Company and -such cost of said improvements are hereby assess-
ed against the said Texarkana.and Fort -Smith Railway'Company and
shall'be'collected as other assessments levied under this Ordinance.
'Provided .such'work shall be done in accordance with -.the City Ordinance
regulating the construction of railways in the streets of the City
of Beaumont and the paving of such streets. traversed by . same..

Railway Company.and such cost of said improvements are hereby assess-
ed against the said Texarkana ahcl'Fort Smith Railway Company and shall
be collected as other assessments levied under this Ordinance. Provi
ded such work shall be done in accordance'with the, City. Ordinance.reg-i
ulating the -construction -of railways in the streets: -of the.: City -of
Beaumont =and the .paving of such streets traversed -by sane.

That all the cost of grading and -paving that_,_portion of
Railroad Avenue from Forsythe Street to College Street between the
.rails of the Beaumont Sourlake and IVestern Railway Company and . a
space extending twenty -pour - (24) inches , beyond .the outer edge of
the .-rails of .said' company. shall be borne by the . said Beaumont. Sour
:lake and' -Western Railway,Company'and'such cost of -said improvements

SECTION 7.
That all the cost of grading and paving_that'porticn-of
-Milam Street -from Pearl Street to Park Street between the rails -of
the Beaumont Traction company and a space extending twenty-four
(24) inches beyond the,outer-edge of the rails 'of -.said company
shall be%borne by the said Beaumont Traction Company and such cost,
of said improvements.are hereby assessed against the .said_B.eaumont
Traction Company. and shall be collected•as,other assessments lev-
ied under this ordinance. Provided such work shall be done in ac
eordance-with the.City Ordinance regulating the construction of
railways in the streets of -the City of Beaumont and the -paving of
such streets traversed by same.

That all the cost of grading and paving that portion of
Broadway. =Street from- Gulf Street to First Street between- the rails-
of`the Texas and' New Orleans -'
Company and•'a space extending
twenty -tout (24) inches beyond- the-- outer .edge':of =the' rails of said
company shall be'borne,by the= said -Teras and New Orleans Railroad
Company and such cost of..said improvements are hereby assessed
against the said Texas and New Orleans Railroad.Conipany and shall
be collected as'othe-r assessments.levied-under this.Ordinanee.
Provided such work shall be.d-one in accordance -with - the City Ordi-
nance regulating the construction of railways_ in .the streets of
the City -of Beaumont -and the paving of such -streets traversed by
same .- .
SECTION 9.
That all the- cost of grading and paving that portion of
Broadway-Street-from.Gulf Street to First Street between the rails
of the Gulf Colorado and Santa -Fe Railroad Company and a space ex-
tending twenty-four (24) inches beyond -the outer edge of the -'rails
of the said company , shall -be borne by the said -Gulf Colorado and -
&ants Fe:',R'ailroad Company and such cost. of -said improvements are -
hereby assessed.against the said Gulf Colorado and•.Santa Fe Rail-
roacT Company and shall -be .collected as other assessments levied
under'this Ordinance'. Provided such work -shall be done in accord-
anee with'the.City Ordinance - regulating the construction of rail-
ways in the -streets of -the City .of Beaumont and the .paving .of such
streets traversed by same.

That' -all the cost of .the grading and paving that portion --
of Liberty Avenue'from-Gulf Street to First.Street between -the rails
of the Texas and_New Orleans -Railroad Company and,a _space extending
twenty-four (24) -inches 'beyond the outer -edge of -the rails of said
company shall be borne by the said Texas .and New Orleans Railroad
Company and such cost of said improvements: -are hereby -assessed
against the said Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company and shall
be collected as other assessments levied under this Ordinance-.
Provided such work shall be done in accordance with the City Ordi-
nance regulating the construction of -railways in the streets of
the -City of Beaumont and. -the paving of such.streets-traversed by
same.
SECTION 11.
::That' all the cost of the grading arid- paving that portion
of Liberty. -Avenue from Gulf Street to First'Sireet between the rails
of the Gulf Colorado and SantaFe railroad Company and a space extend-
ing twentyfour (24)- inches. beyond the outer =edge of the rails -of the
said company shall be borne by'the said -Gulf Colorado and Santa.Fe
.Company and such -cost -of said improvements.are hereby-assesse-d against
the said Gulf -Colorado -and Santa Fe.Railroad Company and shall be
collected as other. assessments- levied -under- this Ordinance. Pro'-
vided such work shall be done in accordance with the. City Ordinance
regulating -the construction of railways:..in the streets of the City
of Deaumont-and the paving.of such -streets traversed by same.
SECTION 12
That the -amount -of -:the tax hereby levied and assessed
together with -the cost , of collecting same is hereby declared a
lien against -the said lots parts of lots, blocks.or tracts of
land and against -the Beaumont Traction C6mpany,.-Texas and New
Orleans Railroad, -Company,, Texarkana and Fort Smith.Railroad Com-
pany, Beaumont 'imarAke- and-I?estern Railroad Company, Gulf Colo-
rado and Santa e -and shall -be -a personal charge- or- claim ,against.
the owner or owners thereof and:against the said Beaumont Traction
Company, Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company,,Texarkana and
Fort{_Smith Railroad Company, Beaumont. Sourlake 'and Western Railroad
Company and the -Gulf Colorado.and Santa Fe Railroad Company.
SECTION 13. -
Owing to the.necessity for paving in the .City of Beaumont
creates an emergency and the rule requiring Ordinances to be read
.at three separate meetings be and the same is -hereby suspended and
this Ordinance shall -take effect .and be in -full- -force and affect
from and after its passage and law'ful' publication. ,
