BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIR,CIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT

Section 1
That Section 5 of Article 384 of the Revised Code
of Ordinances of the City of- Beaumont as codified by
McDowell and. Davidson, and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Beaumont on the 7th day of February, A.D.1911,
be amended so as to hereafter read as follows:
"See -5:r Said Board of Equalization shall examine
the assessment sheets turned over to them by the Assessor
and Collector, as provided for in the chapter, and
equalize same. Said Board of equalization shall have
no authority to assess any -property, but shall have
authority only to equalize the valuations as originally.

the duties of the Board of Equalization is vag!te and in-
definite, and does not state clearly that said Board's
duty is to equalize and not to assess property, an emergency
and imperative public necessity is created, requiring

That -Section 5 of Article 384 of the Revised Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont as codified by
McDowell and. Davidson, and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Beaumont on the 7th day of February, A.D.1911,
be amended so as to hereafter read as follows:
