Entitled an ordinance reducing the width of the road
way or carriage way on Broadway from lst Street to
8th street from its presant width to a width of
27 feet, and increasing the width of the sidtrwalks
to correspond thereto, and de6laring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMITCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
Section 1
That the Roadway or carriage way of Broadway from 1st
to 8th Street be reduced from its present width to a width
of 27 feet, and. the Sidewalks be increased to correspond thereto.
Section 2
Whereas, numerous property owners along said. street
are dnxious. to shell said p9rtion of Broadway and place
concrete curbing in.front of same, and
Whereas 27 ft. on said pertion of said street is
sufficient to carry the traffic and it is necessary before
shelling said. street that the width,:."si same should be fixed
at 27 ft. anc: emergency and public necessity is created
requiring the suspension of the rule regaining ordinances to
be read at three regular meetings. Said rule is hereby suspended
and this ordinance shall go into force and effect from and
after its passage and lawful publication.
