Section II., It is not intended -by anything contained in this ordinance to authorize the -Jefferson County Traction Company., its successors and assigns, to connect its tracks and lines' with the tracks and lines of the said Beaumont Tract ion Company and tooperate operate its interurban cars. on and over the tracks, switches and tarn -'outs of said Beaumont Traction Company on said streets, except subject to the terms, conditions and. limitations of a contract or contracts executed or to be executed between said two companies. Sectio n III. The right, privilege and franchise to the Jefferson County Traction Company to operate its interurban cars into the City of Beaumont on and over the said tracks of Beaumont Traction Company on said streets are granted to and conferred upon an inter- urban railway to be constructed and operated between Beaumont,Taxas and Tort Arthux, Texas, and if the said interurban railway betweEn. Beaumont and fort Arthur, Texas, shall not be constructed, completed and in operation within twelve (12) months from thedate of the final i passage of this: ordinance by the City Council, then this ordinance and all the provisions herein contained shall be and become absolutely null and void. Section IV. That all the rights, privileges and franchises hete- in conferred are granted upon the terms, conditions and 1-dmitations contained in the chartat of the City of Beaumont Section V. That this ordinance shall take effecu and be in force 30 days after its final passage, the sane having been publiehed and read as required by .law. ordinance to authorize the -Jefferson County Traction Company_, its successors and assigns, to connect its tracks and lines with the tracks and lines of the sai-d Beaumont Traction Company and to.operate its interurban cars -on and over the tracks, switches and tarn -outs of said Beaumont Traction Company on said. streett, except subject to the terins, conditions and. limitations of a contract or contracts executed or to be executed between said two companies. Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas, shall not be constructed, completed and in operation within twelve (12) months from thedate of, the final passage of this, ordinance by the City Council, then this ordinance. and all the provisions herein bontained shall be and become absolutely null and void. Section IV. That all the rights, privileges and franchises here- in conferred are granted upon the terms, conditions and 11mitations contained in the chartet of the City of Beaumont. Section V. That this -6-r3nance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its final passage, the same having been published anal read as required by law. Se ct i om V1. ATTEST:- d F'd 1A i i WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas, passed on its third and last reading, on Wednesday, September seventeenth, 19139 a certain ordinance granting franchise rights to Jefferson County Tract -ion Company to bring its interurban cars into the City of Beaumont over the tracks of Beaumont Traction: Company, and as otherwiBe in said j - - franchise provided-, which ordinance was approved on the same date by Mayor Emmett -.A. Fletcher, and WHEREAS it is provided in said franchise that the same should become effective thirty days after its passage I and approval by the mayor, provided the grantee should in writing accept the same within sixty days of its passage and I approval aforesaid; I NOW, THEREFORE9 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that the grantee, the Jefferson. County Traction Company, hereby in writing accepts the above described franchise from the City of Beaumont " IN WITNESS WHEREOF the said grantee has hereunto j affixed its name and seal,, by il,s officers thereunto duly authorized, on this the 20 ! day of October, 1913. Fletcher, and VVHMEAS it is provided in said franchise that the same should become effective thirty days after its passage and approval by the mayor, provided the grantee should in tivriting accept the same within sixty days of its passage and approval aforesaid; NOW, THEREFORE , KI.TOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that the grantee, the Jefferson County Traction Company, hereby in Writing accepts the above described franchise from the City of Beaumont.
