HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 69-07ORDINANCE NO. 69-7 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PART OF THE AREA LOCATED IN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AS AN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AS AUTHORIZED BY THE MUNICIPAL ANNEXATION ACT; PROVIDING THE PURPOSE OF SUCH DISTRICT; AND PRO- VIDING THAT SUCH DISTRICT SHALL: -BE KNOWN AS THE "CITY OF BEAUMONT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT NO. 411. Whereas, the "Municipal Annexation Act," Article 970a, Vernons Texas Civil Statutes, authorizes a city to designate any part of the area located in its extraterritorial jurisdiction as an industrial district and to contract with the owners of land in such district guaranteeing the extraterritorial status of such district; and, Whereas, the City Council of The City of Beaumont deems it to be in the best interest of The City of Beaumont to designate the hereinafter described area an industrial district; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: 1. That the area described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof, located within the extraterritorial juris- diction of The City of Beaumont is hereby designated and established as an industrial district of The City of Beaumont. 2. It is hereby declared to be the purpose of The City of Beaumont to treat with such area from time to time as the City Council of The City of Beaumont may deem to be in the best in- terest of The City of Beaumont and to contract with the owners of land in such industrial district guaranteeing the continuation of the extraterritorial status of such district for a period of time not to exceed seven (7) years. � l r,tq- q -c'2.1 1 l 6 � 3. The industrial district created and established by this ordinance, and described.herein, shall be known as the "City of Beaumont Industrial District No. 4." PASSED by the City Council this the 21st day of January 11969. Mayor- EXHIBIT "A" Being a tract of land out of the W. H. Hodge Survey, Abstract 131, Jefferson County, Texas, and being more fully des- cribed as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of Bethlehem Steel Corporation property.,;:Same being the intersection of the south right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 10, and the right ascending bank of Brakes Bayou; Thence, Southerly along a west line of the Bethlehem pro- perties and the right ascending bank of Brakes Bayou to its inter- section with the left ascending bank of the Neches River; Thence, Easterly, Northerly, and Westerly with the meanders of the left ascending bank of the Neches River to its intersection with the south right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 10, same being the northeast corner of the Bethlehem Steel properties; Thence, Westerly along the north line of the Bethlehem Steel properties and the south right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 10 to the place of beginning.
