ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
AND IN PARTICULAR THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ZONING
DISTRICTS AS INDICATED UPON THE ZONING MAP OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEA.UMONT, TEXAS, BY
CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF A 2.4 ACRE TRACT
OF LAND IN H. WILLIAMS LEAGUE,. BEAUMONT, ,-
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN
PRESENTLY ZONED "R-111, SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING,
TO "R-211, TWO-FAMILY & MULTIPLE DWELLING;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING A.
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: -
Section 1.
That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, and in particular the boundaries of the zoning districts
as indicated upon the Zoning Map of the City of Beaumont, referred
to in Section 42-9 thereof, is hereby amended by changing the
zoning classification of the following described tract of land,
presently zoned R-1, Single Family Dwelling, to R-2, Two-family
and Multiple Dwelling District, to wit:
BEING a tract of land out of and a part of the
H. Williams League and a part of that certain
tract conveyed by Earl C. Hankamer, et a1 to
W. P. Mahone by warranty deed recorded in
Volume 4.43, Page 553 of the Deed Records of
Jefferson County, Texas, and being more partic-
ularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of the said
Mahone tract,
THENCE south 810 35'
north line of Calder
point;
west along and with the
Avenue 46.50 feet to a
THENCE south 850 35' west along and with the
said north line of Calder Avenue 293.00 feet
to a point for..corne.r, sai-d,eorner being also
the point of intersection of the east Line of
Goodhue Road and the said north line of Calder
Avenue;
THENCE north along and with the said east line
of Goodhue Road 251.65 feet to a point for
corner in the south line of the abandoned
B.S.L.&W. Railroad right of way;

THENCE north 650 56' east along and with the
said south line of the B.S.L. & W. Railroad
339.00 feet to a point for corner, said
corner being also the northeast corner of
the said Mahone tract;
THENCE south 030 55' east along and with the
east line of the said Mahone tract 365.00
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing
in area 2.4 acres of land, more or less , and
including one-half (1/2) the widths of abutting
street rights of way.
and the official zoning map of the City of Beaumont is hereby
amended to reflect such changes.
Section 2.
That in all other respects the use of the property
hereinabove described shall be subject to all of the applicable
regulations contained in Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas adopted August 19, 1958, effective October 19,
1958, as amended.
Section 3.
That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall
be deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of the
zoning affecting any portion of the property described here-
inabove shall be declared to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the zoning of the balance of the property described
herein.
Section 4.
That any person or corporation violating any of the terms
and provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same pen-
alties provided for.in the said Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances
of Beaumont, Texas.
