HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 72-20LLJ/gh/4/5/72 �4 r ORDINANCE NO. %oZ - &6 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ZONING DISTRICTS AS INDICATED UPON THE ZONING MAP OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF A 8.9 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE J. W. BULLOCK SURVEY IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN PRESENTLY ZONED "R-1" TO "R-211; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: Section 1. That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and in particular the boundaries of the zoning districts as indicated upon the Zoning Map of the City of Beaumont, re- ferred to in Section 42-9 thereof, is hereby amended by chang- ing the zoning classification of the following described tract of land, presently zoned "R-1", Single Family Dwelling District, to "R-211, Two Family and Multiple Dwelling District, to -wit: Being an 8.9 acre tract of land known as tract 2 -out of lot or block 21 in the Annie T. Warren Subdivision, J. W. Bullock Survey (Map Records of Jefferson County, Vol. 1, page 71), Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, said tract being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point located South 27 degrees East a distance -of 567.5 ft. from the inter- section of the South right-of-way line of Virginia St. with the East boundary line of the S&ETRR (Southern Pacific) right-of-way, said point being the northwest corner of the herein described tract of land; THENCE East 730.7 feet to a point for corner at the northeast corner of the herein described tract of land, said point being situated approx- imately 149 ft® west of the West right-of-way line of Park St.; THENCE South 710 ft. to a point for corner in the North right-of-way line of Saxe St.; D- 7Z -'2v 4/-//- -7.2- a 7 12 THENCE West 357.5 ft. to a point for corner at the northeast corner of the intersection of Saxe St. with the S&ET RR right-of-way, said point being the southwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE North 27 degrees West 804.8 ft. to a point for corner and the place of beginning, containing 8.9 acres of land, more or less; Zoning extends to the centerline of abutting streets and railroad right-of-way, and the official zoning map of the City of Beaumont is hereby amended to reflect such changes. Section 2. That in all other respects the use of the property hereinabove described shall be.subject to all of the applicable regulations contained in Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas adopted August 19, 1958, effective October 193 1.958, as amended. Section 3. That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of the zoning affecting any portion of the property described herein- above shall be declared to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the zoning of the balance of the property des- cribed herein. Section 4. That any person orcorporation violating any of the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalties provided for in the said Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
