ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY
AMENDING SUBSECTION 11-65(e) REMOVING THE
LIMITATION OF EIGHT DWELLING UNITS PER BUILD-
ING AND THE LIMITATION OF TWO FLOORS IN HEIGHT
RELATIVE TO THE USE OF NON-METALLIC SHEATHED
CABLE IN MULTI -FAMILY DWELLINGS OF WOOD FRAME
CONSTRUCTION; PROVIDING FOP, SEVERABILITY; AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Chapter 11 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, is hereby amended by amending Subsection 11-65(e), said
Subsection 11-65(e) to read as follows:
"Sec. 11-65. Approved Wiring Methods, Use Thereof
(e) In all buildings and on all properties within
the first -fire district, all commercial build-
ings, all buildings used for commercial purposes,
and all apartment houses containing three (3)
or more apartments, the following wiring methods
are excluded from the approved methods as listed
in the National Electrical Code of 1965:
Article 320 - Open wiring on insulators.
.Article 324 - Concealed knob and tube work.
Article 328 - Bare conductor feeders.
Article 338 - Service -entrance cable, but
only as it relates to projects
of more than eight (8) apartments
per unit, or more than two (2)
stories in height, or other than
wood -frame construction.
Article 339 - Underground feeder and branch
circuit cable, but only as it
relates to projects of more than
eight (8) apartments per unit, or
more than two (2) stories in height,
or other than wood -frame construct-
ion.

Article 350%' - Flexible metallic conduit.
Article 351%' - Liquid -tight flexible conduit.
(%',Article 350 and 351 permitted in accordance
with Section 11-65, Subsection (d) above)"

If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular
set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held
invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and to such end.the various pro-
visions of this ordinances are declared to be severable.
3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
