ORDINANCE NO. 73-39
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 12,
19725 FOR THE FISCAL PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER
1, 1972, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1973, BY
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $75,000 FROM UNAP-
PROPRIATED RESERVES.TO THE CONTINGENCY FUND
IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR CITY PARTICIPA-
TION WITH CENTRAL CITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
IN A PLANNING EFFORT FOR THE DOWNTOWN AREA OF
BEAUMONT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR REPEAL.
WHEREAS, the.City Council has this day enacted a
resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and ex-
ecute an agreement for financial participation with Central
City Development Corporation in.a major planning effort
regarding the downtown area of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Council that the budget of the City of Beaumont adopted on
September 12, 1972, for the fiscal period beginning October 1,
1972, and ending September 30, 1973, be amended to appropriate
the funds for said project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that said
budget should be amended as recommended by the City Manager;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the budget of the City of Beaumont adopted on
September 12, ' 1972, 'for the fiscal period beginning October 1,
1972, and ending September 30, 1973, be amended by increasing
the appropriation to the contingency fund, Account No. 79 G-14,
by the sum of $75,000, said sum of $75,000 to be appropriated
from unappropriated reserves.

Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of.same to a par-
ticular set of.persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance; and to such end the
various portions, and provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
