ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFI--
CIALS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT A QUIT-
CLAIM DEED CONVEYING ALL OF THE CITYTS RIGHT, TITLE
AND INTEREST IN AND TO LOT 3, BLOCK F OF THE PENNOCK
AND POTTS-ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFER-
SON COUNTY, TEXAS, TO H. C. TAPPEN.
WHEREAS, on the 29th day of September, 1945, The City of
Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Burley Thomas and the
foreclosure of a tax lien upon Lot 3, Block F of the Pennock and
Potts Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, the above described property was sold at public

auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien and The City
of Beaumont purchased said property at said auction and obtained
a Sheriffts Deed, dated December 17, 1945, and recorded in Volume
599, Wage 601 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County Texas; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance passed by the City Com-
mission of The City of Beaumont on January 28:;: 1947, the right,
title and interest of The City of Beaumont in said property was
sold to H. C. Tappen, but the instrument of conveyance was never
recorded and cannot be found by the present owner`of said property;
and,
WHEREAS, the present owner of said property has requested
that the City again quitclaim said property to H. C. Tappen in
order to clear the title to said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS :
That Jack M. Moore, Mayor, be, and he is hereby, authorized to exe-
cute and deliver for and on behalf of The City of Beaumont a Quit-
claim Deed to H. C.. Tappen, conveying to him all of the Cityts
right, title and interest in and to the hereinafter described prop-
erty:
Lot Three (3), Block F, of the Pennock and Potts
Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson Coun-
ty, Texas;
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instru-
ment and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.

1964.
