HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2 GGENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ZONING DISTRICTS AS INDICATED UPON THE ZONING MAP -OF' '.THE CITY OF BEAUMONT REFERRED TO IN SECTION 42-0OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT; TEXAS, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF AN 0.073 ACRE TRACT OF LAND AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SABINE PASS AVENUE AND VAN BUREN AVENUE, IN THE ARLINGTON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DE- SCRIBED HEREIN, PRESENTLY ZONED 11R-211 TO TIC -2"; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: Section 1. That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and in particular the boundaries of the zoning districts as indicated upon the Zoning Map of The City of Beaumont, referred to in Section 42-9 thereof, is hereby amended by changing the zon ing classification of the following described property, presently zoned 11R -2T1, Two -Family and Multiple Dwelling District, to "C-211, Central Commercial District, to wit: Being portions of Lots Nos. 1, and 2, Block No. 34, Arlington Addition to :City of Beaumont, Texas, and being an 0.073 acre triangular-shaped tract of land extending along the East side of Sabine Pass Avenue a distance of 90 feet from the North line of Van Buren Avenue and along the North side of Van Buren Avenue a distance of 71 feet from the East line of Sabine Pass Avenue; and said tract being adjacent to and on the Southwest side of a line which is 200 feet from and parallel to the Southwest line of Railroad Avenue; and containing one half of bounding streets; and the official Zoning Map of The -City of Beaumont is hereby amended to reflect such change. Section 2. That in all other respects the use of the property herein- above described shall be subject to all of the applicable regulations contained in Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, adopted August 19, 1958, effective October 19, 195$, as amend- ed. :SECTION 3. That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of the zoning af- fecting any portion of the property described hereinabove shall be declared to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the zoning of the balance of the property described herein. SECTION 4. That any person or corporation violating any of the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same pen- alties provided for in the said Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
