o -4 AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLA- TION, ERECTION, MAINTENANCE AND LOCATION OF STOP SIGNS FOR THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AT CERTAIN STREET INTERSECTIONS U+WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: .C'cni-i ^" 1 That there shall hereafter be installed, erected and maintained stop signs for the regulation of traffic in and/or upon certain public streets and intersections within the corporate limits of the City of Beaumont, such stop signs be- ing located at the following street intersections, to -wit: Euclid & Victoria on Euclid North & N. Pearl on North Ninth & Broadway on Ninth Hazel & Willow on Hazel First St. & McFaddin on First Seventh St. & Broadway on Seventh Neches & Forsythe on Forsythe Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to re- peal, amend or in anywise affect any ordinance now in effect within the corporate limits of the Ci-ty of Beaumont affect- ing or applying to the installation, maintenance, operation or location of stop signs within the city limits of the City of Beaumont, but the purpose and intention of the City Commission by this ordinance is to officially designate the street upon and street intersection near which these stop signs shall be located. Section 3 The fact that numerous accidents occur on the above intersections, due to the lack of stop signs, and the fact that it becomes imperative that said stop signs be immediately located at said intersections for the purpose of preventing traffic accidents, creates an imperative public necessity, necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three several days before their passage, said rule is therefore hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its lawful passage. PASSED by an affirmative vote of all members of the City Commission, this the'3 Aj day of August, A.
