D..1923, and there shall be end is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected, for the year 1937, a tax of 244 on each A100.00 worth of said property to take care of the interest and sinking fund on the school bonded indebtedness of the City of Beaumont. Said tax is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for said year on all property in the territory taken in by the Ctty of Beaumont for school pur- poses only, by an ordinance passed by the City Commission of said City, on the 27th day of November, A.D. 1923, said territory being known as a portion of what is commonly called the Wench School District. Section 4 That there shall be and is hereby levied and there shall be collected on all occupations and callings on which an occupa- tion tax is levied by the State of Texas, a sum equal to one-half of the amount so levied by the State of Texas, on each respective occupation or calling in the City of Beaumont. Section 5 There being no Ordinance in effect levying the taxes for the year 1937, and the taxes for said year will soon become due and payable, an immediate public emergency exists, necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days before passage, wherefore, s^id rule is hereby suspended and it is enacted that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication. Section 4 The fact that no apportionment has been made of the assessments levied to provide for the interest and sinking fund for the bonded in of the City of Beaumont, creates an imperative public emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three separate meetings before their passage, wherefore, said rule is suspended and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
