AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY
LOCATED BETWEEN BLOCK 4 OF THE DRAKE ADDITION AND LOTS 2,3,& 42
BLOCK 12 OF THE FORREST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by the Liberty Royalty
Corporation by Geo. D. Hodgson, Sec., owner of Block 4 of the
Drake Addition; Beaumont Building & Loan Company by Robert
Corley, ?res., owner of Lots 2 & 3, Block 12 of the Forrest Addi-
tion; F. J. Lartigue, owner of Lot 4, Block 12 of the Forrest
Addition to the City of Beaumont, being owners of all the pro-
perty touched and'%ffected by the alley located between Block 4
of the Drake Addition and Lots 2,3, & 42, Block 12 of the Forrest
Addition to the City of Beaumont, has been presented to the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont, requesting that the said
alley be vacated and closed.
IIOW, T - HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COP; IISS ION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley located between Block 4 of the Drake
Addition and Lots 2,3, & 41 Block 12 of the Forrest Addition to
the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby authorized to be
vacated and closed, and that the title to such alley shall revert
to and become. the property of the respective owners of the land_
in said blocks bordering on said alley, as provided by law; pro-
vided, however, that the closing of this alley shall in no way
affect the rights of the City as to placing and maintaining there-
in any sewer or water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric
lines, wires, poles or cables, or any other service or utility
of the City, or the right to grant franchises to persons or
corporations to place and maintain therein any such sewer or water
lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles
or cables, or any other service or utility of the City, all of
which rights are hereby reserved.
