To amend sections 1, 2, and 3 of an Ordinance providing for the re-
moval.of dead animals from the City limits, and prescribing a pen-
alty for failure to remove the same, passed by the City Council of
the City of Beaumont on the 17th day of January, A. D. 1905, and re-
corded on page 332 of the Ordinance Book of the City of Beaumont.
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
That sections 1, 2 and 3 of and Ordinance providing for the removal
of dead animals from the City limits, and prescribing a penalty for
failure to remove the same, passed by the City Council of the City
of Beaumont on the 17th day of January, A. D, 1905, and recorded on
page 332, Ordindnce Book of the City of Beaumont, be and the same
is hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows, to -wit
Sect -1 -on -1. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for the owner
or person in control of any animal at the time of its death, to allow
the carcass of such animal to remain in or upon any street, alley
or other public -or private place for longer time than six (6) hours
after its death, and any driver or other person using or controling
suoh-animal shall, for the purpose of caring out the intentions of
this Ordindnce, be considered the owner thereof.
Section 2. It shUll hereafter be the duty of any railroad
company, or street railway, �Faompany, or any person firm or corpora-
tion, their agents or employees, who7say kill, maim or wound any
animal w)tithin the City limits to remove the same within six (6)
hours after such killing, maiming or wounding, whether such animal

That sections 1, 2 and 3 of and Ordinance providing for the removal
of dead animals from the City limits, and prescribing a penalty for
failure to remove the same, passed by the City Council of the City
of Beaumont on the 17th day of January, A. D. 1905, and recorded on
page 332, Ordindnce Boot. of the City of Beaumont, be and the same
is hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows, toy -wit
Section 1. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for the owner
or person in control of any animal at the time of its death, to allow
the carcass of such animal to remain in or upon any street, alley
or other public or private place for longer time than six (6) hours
after its death, and any driver or +other person using or con+.coling
such -animal shall., for the purpose of caring out the intentions of
this Ordindnce, be considered the owner thereof.
Section 2. - It shlill hereafter be the duty of any railroad
company, or street railwa�T,fiompany, or any person firm or corpora-
tion, their agents or employees, who7aay kill, maim or wound any
animal within the City limits to remove the same within six (6)
hours after such killing, maiming or wounding, whether such animal
was under thn v3tx supervision and control of such person, firm, or
corporation, their agents of employees, at the time or not, unless
the owner thereof shall within said time, take charge of such animal
and remove the same.
Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation, their agents or
employees, who shall hereafter violate any Provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction shall be punished by a fine in the Corporation Court -of the
City of Beaumont, not to exceed,One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
Each and every day that this ordinance is violated shall constitute
a separate and distinct 4)ffence.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
repealed 314�� _
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, and approval by the Mayor, according to law.
