An Ordinance
Prodiding:.and prescribing the bounds and limits of the portion
of the City of Beaumont in which -saloons, -grog -shops of/other places for
retailing spirituous, vicious malt: or intoxicating ligours may be conducted
C and prescribing what portions of the City , that, saloons, grog -.shops or
other places f or. retailing spirituous, vinous, malt and intoxicating
liquor, shall not be conducted, .and prescribing and providing penalties
for,the violation of the said ordinance.

I Be it ordained by the. City Council of the City of BeaiLmont:
Section 1.
That.sa,loons, grog -shops or.other:places for retailing spirit-
uous' vinous, malt and intoxicating liquors, may be conducted in the
City'of Beaumont within:the following territory or portions of the City
of Beaumont to -wit:
Beginning on -the West side of Main Street at Cedar Street in the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County Texas; thence south along the west
side of Maui Street to the north side of. Washington Street ; the nee

Be it ordained by the, City Council of the City of Bealunont:
Section 1.
That . saloons , grog--shops-or other ; places for retailing spirit-
uous; vinous, malt and intoxicating liquors, may be conducted in the
City of Beaumont within:the following territory or portions of the City
of Beaumont to -tit:
Beginning on the West side of Main Street at Cedar Street in the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County Texas; thence south along the west
side of Maui Street to the north side of Washington Street ; the nee

employees under any ste of name whatsoever, to conduct, maintain or
be concerned in c onductino or maintaining, any saloon, grog -shop or other
place for retailing api-rituous, vinous, malt, or intoxicating liquors
of any kind in any territory within the corporate lime-ts of the. City of
Beaumont, except the portion included within the above boundaries, as
set out in Sec 1 hereof; provided, however that nothing in this ordinance
shall be construed to affect, violate or vitiate anis valid liquor oh --
beer license issued b -Nr Fede -al State, , countir or r_2t:nicipal authorities
now in force 141ithin the limits of the Citir.
Section 3,.
If any person or persons,, firm, partnership, corporation or
tort orations, his its or their agents or empoyees under any style or
name whatsoever, shall conduct, maintain or be concerned in c onductiong
or maintaining; any saloon, gro--slZor or other place where spirituous,
vinous, malt or intoxicating liquors of an -,r hind whatsoever' are bartered,
solei or dispensed in any manner, whthin any portion of the corporate
limits of the City of :Reaur,ront other than that; desc—iloo,_L in Sec #1 of
this ordinance, s1lall be deeraed guilty of a misdemesuzor, and upon con-
viction in the Coreoration Court shall be f fined in any svm not less
than fifty ($50.00) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred ( $200.00) Dollars,
and each day any person or persons, firm, partnership, corporation, or
corporations, his, its, or their agents or employees shall violate amrr
portion of this ordinance, shall be deemed a separate and distinct offense
and s12al1 be pnnishe bora separate and distinct fine of not
less than Fifty & $50.00 ) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred ( $204V)
Section 4
This ordinance shall be in full_ force and effect Thirty (30)
days from the
date
of

shall
be
published
in some news
paper
in,
the City of
Be_auiont, once
each
week
for
Three (3)
consecutive weeks after its passage, which shall be deemed and held sttf-
ficient notice to all parties interested in the :force and effect, of this
ordnance
set out in Sec 1 hereof; provided, however that _nothing in this ordinance
shall be construed to affect, violate or vitiate any valid liquor o&--
beer
&rybeer license issued by Federal State, county or municipal authorities
now in force within the limits of the City.
Section 3,.
If any person or persons,, firm, partnership, corporation or
cor»oral, ons, his its or their agents or eMpo�=ees under anystyle or
name whatsoever, shall conduct, maintain or be concerned in conductiong
or mai-ntaining any saloon, gro�7;-s'iop or other glace where spirituous,
vinous, malt or intoxicating liquors of a.n;yr'rind whatsoever -are bartered,
sold or dispensed- in any manner, erlithin any portion of the corporate

'Alderman recommends that the ordin-
ance prescribing the bounds and limits in Which Grog Shops, Saloons,
and other places for retailing intoxicatiiag liquors, be amended as
hereinafter 'set out' and in its amended form '�e passed in place of
an orciinace duly passed by this Council ofvApril the 23rd, 107 and
that this amended ordinance be passed to its third and final reading
for Tuesday, September the 3rd, '07.
Substitute for Section 1 in the proposed ordinance the following
Section 1.-
