BEAUMONT FOR THE YEAR 1932, AS PROVIDED BY THE CHARTER OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, ON THE DATE AND AT TIE PLACE SET FORTH IN .SAID
ORDINANCE FOR TIS PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND NINE COUNCILMEN
AS DESIGNATED IN SAID ORDINANCE; NJQ1IING THE PLACES AT Wl ICH SAID
ELECTION SHALL BE HELD AND DESIGNATING THE PLACES WHERE THE VOT-
ERS SHALL VOTE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That in accordance with Section 261, Sub -section 4, of the
Charter of the City of Beaumont and other provisions of said
Charter, and'the lavers of the State of Texas relating thereto,
there shall be held in the City of Beaumont on .the first Tuesday
in April, 19321, the same being the 5th day of April, A. D. 19329
a regular municipal election for said city for the purpose of
electing a mayor and for the purpose of electing three councilmen
for the First Ward, three councilmen for the Second Ward, and
three councilmen f or the Third. Ward in said City.
Section 2.
That said election shall be held in the City of Beaumont
in the following places, to -wit:
In the First Ward at the Averill School Building,
and Central Fire Station.
In the Second Ward at the City Hallo
In the Third Ward at the Sabine Pass Fire Station,
and South Park Elementary School Building.
That all voters residing in County voting precincts Num-
bers 15 2, 32 6 and 7 in the City shall vote at Central Fire Sta-
tion; that all voters residing in County voting precinct Number
4 in the City shall vote _at Averill School; that all voters re-
siding in County voting precincts Numbers 5, 8 and 9 in the City
shall vote at the City Hall; that all voters residing in County
voting precincts Numbers 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 in the City shall
vote. at Sabine Pass Avenue Fire Station.; that all voters residing
in County voting precincts Numbers 15, 16 and 17 in the City shall
vote at South Park Elementary School.
Section 3.
The following named persons are appointed presiding judges for
their respective voting boxes in saidwards, with the authority
to select and appoint their own clerks:

Section 4.
That said election shall be held under, and the qualifi-
cations of those voting thereat shall be controlled by, the pro-
visions of the State Laws governing election.
Section 5.
That a copy of this ordinance signed by the Mayor of
the City of Beaumont, and attested by the City Clerk thereof
shall serve as proper and sufficient notice of said election;
and the Mayor is hereby directed to cause a copy of this ordi-
nance, signed by himself and attested by the City Clerk, to be
posted at each of the places herein designated for holding said
election at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of holding
said election..
Section 6.
That an ordinance has not yet been passed providing for
and ordering a general municipal election for the year 1932, and
that such ordinance is necessary, thereby creating an imperative
public emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requir-
ing ordinances to be read on three separate days before their
passage; wherefore, said rule is hereby suspended and this ordi-
nance shall take effect from and after its passage and the signa-
ture of the Mayor.
Passed by the affirmative vote of all members of the City
Cormission, this the 1st day of March, A. D. 1932*
