BEAUMONT.FOR THE YEAR 1933, AS PROVIDED BY THE CHARTER OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, ON THE DATE AND AT THE PLACE SET FORTH IN SAID ORDI-
NANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING SIX COUNCILMEN AS DESIGNATED IN
SAID ORDINANCE; NAMING THE PLACES AT WHICH SAID ELECTION SHALL BE
HELD; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That in accordance with Section 265, Su"o-section 4, of
the Charter of the City of Beaumont and other provisions of said
Charter, and the laws.of the State of Texas relating thereto, there
shall be held in the City of Beaumont on the first Tuesday in April,
19331 the same being the 4th day of April, A. D. 1933, a regular
municipal election for said City for the purpose of electing two
councilmen from the Fir.st tiVard, ' two councilmen from the Second Ward,
and two councilmen from the Third Ward in said City.
Section 2.
That said election shall be held in. the City of Beaumont
in the following places, to -wit:
In the First Zilfard at the Central Fire Station.
In the Second Ward at the City Hall.
In the Third Ward at the Sabine Pass Fire Station.
Section 3.
The following named persons are appointed presiding
judges for their respective voting boxes in said wards, with'the
authority to select and appoint.their own clerks;
At the Central Fire Station J. G. Fuqua
At the City Hall S. E. Bigham
At the Sabine Pass Fire Station_ Mrs. Ben Pipkin
Section 4.
That said election shall be held under, and the quali-
fications of those voting thereat shall be controlled by, the
provisions of the State Laws governing elections.

Section 5®
That a copy of this ordinance signed by the .Mayor of the
City of Beaumont, and attested by the City Clerk thereof, shall
serve as proper and sufficient notice of said election; and the
Mayor is hereby directed to cause a copy of this ordinance, signed,
by himself and attested by the City Clerk, to be posted at each of
the places herein designated for holding said election at least
thirty (30) days prior to the date of holding said election.
Section 6,
That an Ordinance has not yet been passed providing for
and ordering a general municipal election for the year 1933,. and
that such ordinance is necessary, thereby creating an imperative
public emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring
ordinances to be read on three separate days before their passage;
wherefore, said rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall
take effect from and after its passage and the signature of the
Mayor. .
Passed by the affirmative vote of all members of the
City Co fission, this the 28th day of February, As De 1933.
