NURSES, ALL PERSONS IN CHARGE OF HOSPITALS, CLINICS AND SIMILAR
INSTITUTIONS, AND AMBULANCE DRIVERS HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF ANY PER-
SON BEING WOUNDED OR KILLED BY THE DISCHARGE OF FI REARMS, OR 1!VHO
HAVE SUFFERED INJURY OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF ANY AFFRAY, ASSAULT,
OR ACCIDENT, TO IPlIMEDIATELY REPORT SUCH FACT AND ALL INFORMATION
POSSESSED BY THEM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE OF Th -E CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH, OR VIOLA-
TION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That from and after the passage of this Ordinance,
whenever any person has been shot and wounded, or killed, through
the discharge of firearms of any character, whether such discharge
be adoidental or otherwise, or has suffered an injury of any
character as a result of any affray, assault, or accident, it
shall be the duty of all doctors, surgeons, nurses and ambulance
drivers, having any information that any person has been so shot
and wounded or killed or injured, to immediately report the fact
of'such injury or death and all information they or any of them
may have of the cause of, and circumstances surrounding such in-
jury and/or death, with persons name and address if known, to
the Department of Police of the City of Beaumont.
Section 2.
All persons in charge of any hospital, clinic or
similar institution located within the City of Beaumont, receiv-
ing any person so shot and wounded or killed or otherwise injur-
ed, as set forth in Section 1 hereof, whether living or dead at
the time of admission, are hereby required and obligated, and
must immediately report to the Department of Police of the City
of Beaumont the fact of the admission of any such person to the
institution, the time of admission, character of injury or cause
of death, name and address of such person, and any other informa-
tion or knowledge they may have of the cause of and circumstances
surrounding such injury or death.
Section 3.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall apply to all
cases where persons are shot and wounded or killed, or injured as
herein set forth, within the corporate limits of the City of
Beaumont, as well as in all cases where such persons are brought
into said City for treatment at any hospital; clinic or similar
institution located within the corporate limits of said City.
Section 4.
Any such person failing or refusing to.comply with or
violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in
any swn not less than $25.001, nor more than $100.00
