Be it ordained by the City Cauncil of the City of Beaumont:
Sec. 1. That all pUrsons who shall have been offieia-ly
rci�o`rt d to tha police authorities of any other state or city of the
UhItUdlState;s and known as notorious thieves or criminals, and who
are found wIl thin the city of Beaum6.nt without honest employment 1' �
or hoi.est avocation, acid all porsons wandering abroad, lodging in
groceries, taverns, beer houses, rsarket places, sheds, barns and
uninhabitable buildings, or in the open air, and all persons 1,rrho
follow the occupation of inducing strangers and other persons to
visit bawdy houses, gambling houses, or to gamble, -and ropers and,
campers, and such parsons as are coi.,inonly known as pirn s, touts
and fakirs, and all persons notoriously known as pickpockets, shall
be conside red as dangerous _and suspicious_ persons, ar_d._ upon _con-
viction in the corporation court of the city of 13eail-mont shall be
fii?d- not less than ton dollars nor more than one hundred ddllars.
sec. 2. That Whoever shall knowingly harbor, or protect, s
-aid_ or assist any dangerous or susl)ieious person referred to in
section one of this ordii.ance, shall be guilty of a misdclaeanor
a::c! upon conviction shall bci finer7_ in a.r.y s111ii _no+, less than one
dollar nor more than one hundred dollars.
Sec. 3. That all ordinances or pasts of ordi_,ances in con-
flict with this ordinance arc; hcroby repealed_, and this ordinance
shall take effect and bo in force from and after its passage and
publication:
