AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING AN ORDINANCE DATED AND ENACTED
MAY 18, 19203 "ENTITLED Al ORDINANCE ESTABLISHIFG A
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION FOR THE CITY OF BEAUMOI�T, PRE-
SCRIBING THE NUMBER TO CONSTITUTE SAID BOARD, NAMING
THE PERSONNEL THEREOF, PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES, FIX-
ING THEIR COMPEivSATION, AUTHORIZING AND EMPO11JERING
TIETU2 TO NAME ONE OF ITS MEMBERS SECRET :"-_RTI OF TI_E BOARD
AND TO NAME HIS DUTIES AND FORIIiULATE RULES AND REGULA-
TIOiIS FOR HIS GUIDANCE AND DECLARING AN El,,TERGENCY",
BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 2-A AND 2-B, PROVIDING THAT
ANY PERSON DISSATISFIED fTITH VALUATIONS FOUND BY SAID
BOARD MAY INTRODUCE EVIDENCE THEREON BEFORE SAID BOARD
RELATIVE THERETO, AND THAT THE VALUATIONS FINALLY FOUND
AND FIXED BY SAID BOARD SHALL BE FINAL AND BINDING,
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT I�'REWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TI -TE CITY COIJIMISSION
OF TIIE CITY OF BEAU-MONT :
That the Ordinance creating the Board of
E
+'qualization for the -City of Beaumont, and containing
other provisions relative thereto, enacted May 18, 1920,
recorded in Volume 4, Page 30 of the Minute Book of
Ordinances of -the City of Beaumont, be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
Section 2-A: Any person who may be dis-
satisfied with the action of the Board of Equalization
in fixing the values upon his property, shall have the
right to introduce evideric_e__before said Board as to such
values, and said ' Board. shall hear and duly consider same
in arriving at valuations of such property. The valua-
tions upon any property finally found and fixed by said
Board shall be final and binding, and no appeal shall
lie therefrom.
Section 2-B• All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith, and especially Section
8 of Article 384 of the Code of Ordinances of 1911,

codified by McDowell and Davidson, be and the same
are hereby repealed.
