AN ORDINAi�?CE
An ordinance amending ordinance number' 38 of the .orcl-Inances of the
city of Beaumont which said ordinance was passed and approved on the
16th day of April 1901, and recorded on page. 76 minutes of ordinance
of the city of Beau#ont, Book l,,prohibiting the erection or building
of structures or houses of ,any other material than brick, stone or
corrugated iron in certain described destricts in the city of Beau-
mont, and providing a penalty for the vialation thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED by the -city counsil of the city of Beaumont.
Sec. 1. That ordinance number 38 of the ordinances of the city
of Beaumont -p'ass'ed and -approved on the�l6th day.' -of April, 1903; -re--- - --
corded on page 76 of , the minutes of ordinance of the city' of. Beawnont ,
Book,1, be and the.same is hereby amended so as to read as follows,
to wit: -
That it shall be unlawful to erect or build any structure
or house of any character, of any other material than store or brick,
on any lots lots or part of lot or block within the following 6e§cribp d
district of the city of Beaumont which,shall constitute the 'brick and
stone limits, to wit:
Beginning at the corner of Crocket and Neches St.- thence
South East on Neches St. 150 ft: thehee North East. -through block -
number 17 of the Van -Wormer addition of the city of Beaumont to Sab-
ine St: thence South East on Sabine St. 360 ft: thence North East
150 ft. to the center of block nivaber. 51 and thence South East through
blocks 51 and 50 to Forsyth St: thence North East on Forsyth St.
330 ft: thence South East through blocks 39, 38 and 37.to Washington
St: thence North East on Washington St. 420 ft: thence North West
through blocks.11 and 12 and the city park to.a point on Forsyth
St.180 ft. North East from Pearl St: thence North East on Forsyth
St. 120,ft. to Main St: thence North on.Cypress St. to a point half
way between Mulberry and Tevis St: thence west through block niunber:20.:
to Travis__St�: thence North 150 ft, to -Mulberry St: thence West on
Mulberry St. to Main St: thence North West on Main St. to Calder
Ave: thence Wiest on Calder Ave. to Cush St: thence South on Cush St.
to Broadway: thence west on Broadway to a point where Alamo St.exten-
ded would intersect with Broadway: thence South on Alamo St. to a
point where same would intersect with Neches St: thence South East
to the place of beginning.

See. 2. That it shall be• -unlawful to erect or build any structure

adition of the city of. Beaumont. Those parts of block Number 51
and 50, and numbers,•39, 38 and :37 not included in section 1 of this
ordinance. Also 120 ft. off of the North East corner of blocks 49,,
48 and 47 facing Orleans St. Those_ darts of blocks numbers '12 ancikll
not included in section 1 of this ordirancQ., Also 120 ft.,, of t1w
South Nest corner of blocks nuitiber 6•, 5:: and 4 ;.facing Main St. Also

Sec. 4. Any person or corporation violating any provision -•of this -
orci nance shall upon conviction, be fined in any sum not less than
$5.00 nor mare than'$100.00, and each day such structure or' house
shall continue in course of construction or.remain thereon, shall

constitute a seperate offense.
Sec. 5. That any ordinance or past of ordinance in conflict with
this ordinance be and the same is hereby repealed and that this or-
dinance -shall take effect and be in force from and after its'passage.
