AN -ORDINANCE .
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING. _SKATING."AND/OR THE USE
OF SKATES; -OR PUSH MOBILES OR OTHER SIMILAR APPARATUS, - ;`xIN; OR UPON
ANY OF THE STREETS- -OF THE C ITY OF BEAUI1IONT WITHIN THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF SAID CITY; PROVID ING ' A PENALTY FOR THE V.IOLAT-ION HEREOF
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. _

Section 10
That it shall beunlawful. for any -person to -skate on, or
to operate skates, push mobiles or -other -.similar.-apparatus_-whether
enumerated•or not, in and/or upon any public street'or highway -with-
in the corporate limits of ° ,the City of Beaumont.
Section S.
Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance -
shall upon conviction in' the- Corporation Court in the City .of Beau -
Mont -be deemed guilty of 'a misdemeanor and-fined.in any.sum.not
exceeding Two Hundred: (200.00) Dollars for each offense.
The --fact that there is no. method_ of controling the present
reckless skating and' use of skates, push mobiles. and other similar ,
apparatus; in- and/or upon the public. streets and highways. "within
the corporate limits .of the- -City of Beaumont, and the danger ' of such,
persons being struck.by motor vehicles- creates ,a public necessity
and imperative public emergency, necessitating the suspension of the
rule requiring that ordinances be read on three (3) -separate -occasions
before the passage thereof and said rule, .is= therefore .hereby suspended
and this, ordinance: shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and, _lawful publicati.on.;-
Passed by an affirmat�ive.,vote of all members of the .City
Commission, this the l�th day of January; A. D: 1935..
